    Electronic Scale Kits At Oatley

Oatley Electronics have a number of electronic scale kits, from 5Kg to 180Kg going cheap (from $18). Could be the perfect addition to your brew structure. No affiliation - just thought some may be interested... http://www.oatleyelectronics.com/whatsnew.html

    Esky Size For Double Batch

Over the weekend I found my 33 Litre mash tun isn't big enough for a big brew. I needed to mash 16Kg of grain for a barley wine, and wound up having to do two batches. After this experience I wouldn't even consider a double batch without a considerably larger tun. Agro.

    Ag Ginger Ale

Believe it or not you would probably get more 'bite' out of ground ginger. Either that or add a little bit of cayenne pepper for a little heat. I think I will have to try your recipe... looks tasty :) Agro.

    Fitting Xr10c Probe To Hlt

Another thought was that without some form of thermal conductance there would be a difference between the actual water temperature and the temp measured at the probe. I wouldn't imagine the difference wouldn't be significant, but it would be there. I think the controller has an adjustment to...

    Fitting Xr10c Probe To Hlt

I thought about making a permanent connection for the probe. esentially a peice of copper tubing crimped at the end and soldered keep the water out. Drill a hole in the HLT and use the appropriate fittings to install the copper 'probe' in the side of the tank. Then the temperature sensor...

    First Ag Down :)

I just racked my first AG to secondary... Damn that's a clear beer! I have *never* had a beer that clean going into secondary, which is why I almost always go to secondary. It must be the finings, but I have *never* seen the S0-4 clump like that. Almost looked like chewed minties in the wort...

    What Is That Aagh Taste?

I honestly don't know - I don't use filtered water (yet). I do know that a reverse osmosis filter will strip all of the minerals out of the water. If you don't replace the minerals you will end up with an off flavoured beer which could be an issue. I'm guessing you probably have a canister...

    What Is That Aagh Taste?

The Gold Coast... It could well be the water. Could you post details on your process, I'm sure there are a lot of people here who would like to help. For that matter there must be somebody else on the Gold Coast. Agro.

    First Ag Down :)

Just put my first AG to bed :) The day started well, woke up to find the HLT at temp and ready to go. Mashed in before breakfast and covered the mash tun with a blanket as there was a cool breeze. * Hit the mash temp right on. I was a little surprised, guess I got lucky. * The mash only...

    Cheap Hops Full Details

Ah - but unlike the HopCo/Retailer situation, this IS restriction of trade. Farmers can sell their produce to whoever they like, whenever they like. Agro.

    The Way Forward

Hi all, Ok - I have avoided posting for good reason. Could we PLEASE put an end to this thread. It is neither productive or informative. To be honest these threads are taking away from AHB and doing far more damage than good. The subject has also been done to death. My $0.02 Agro.

    Burners

I have the same burner - also bought from a disposals fairly cheaply. I used it for the first time on the weekend and found it took way too long to boil mainly due to the wind. I guess I need to rig some form of wind protection to see how it goes. Agro.

    Tree Removals... Anybody?

I'm in shock... The insurance company has said it's covered, no problem at all. I have NEVER had that response from an insurance company before! All that stress and worry for nothing. Cheers Agro.

    Tree Removals... Anybody?

Thanks for that... I may actually be able to sleep tonight... With the divorce my finances have reached critical, then this happens. I was imagining thousands of dollars - I guess the only real risk is if the pool has been damaged. It's a 30 year old concrete job so chances are nothing can...
