I just hope they'll have enough left to cover my grain book once they reopen, otherwise I'll be unimpressed. If they knew they were planning to close perhaps they should have emailed anyone with a grain book and told them to run it down before X date because they're phasing them out or something.

No dramas, I know how bloody annoying a stubborn infection can be. Had many a lawn pour myself in the past, and sometimes it's pretty devastating tbh. Especially when you've thrown half a ton of hops at a brew!

Probably the diaphragm is worn out, sometimes it could just bit a little bit of grit or something in there not allowing it to seal properly too. Also could be the o-ring on the seat assembly. KegKing sells refurb kits. You'll want to check the serial number on your reg first to figure out which...

What are you using to sanitize these things? How many times a day do you open them to check for infection and thereby let microbes in? I reckon it's time to hit it with caustic, or failing that maybe nuke it from orbit?

I'm personally not convinced that the cost would be offset. Probably better off just to grow your own ginger in a tub in the backyard, or just wait until ginger is cheap, not long ago places near me were selling it for 10 bucks a kg or less. I definitely agree that the ginger kits leave a lot...

Yeah apparently they're only worth around $20 bucks each as scrap. Makes you wonder if they're being shipped overseas and sold as kegs rather than scrapped.

That's pretty shit. The fact that it's seemingly not happening in other states makes me wonder if it's mainly the work of one group. Turning up with a truck and making off with 60 kegs is certainly pretty organised. Definitely some dodgy shit happens with scrappers.

That's good to know at least. I've noticed that beerco has some 2023 hops coming on soon, looks like they're just waiting to get through the last of the older stuff. 2023 Citra is already available from them, and a couple of other varieties if you're willing to purchase bulk by the looks.

I hadn't noticed but it would be nice to have some dry 3068 available, might have to give that a go. Anywhere you know that's stocking it?

Just seems odd that it's so late. At this rate we'll be getting 2024 AU/NZ harvest hops before any of last years US gear shows up. I did notice that Yakima seems to have maybe stopped shipping international for orders below 200KG, I wonder if that's got anything to do with it.

Sounds like you're into a bit of everything. Mostly I stick to IPAs/Pales/Hefes but it's probably about time I put on another stout I reckon.
