Vic Grand Final Brew Day And Bonfire

"Shame about the teams that made it through...I'll be going for the one with the splash of red on their jersey." umm clearly an out of towner. In Melbourne a Jersey is a type of cow - we have football jumpers and guernsey's - its been that way for the last 100 years. But there aren't many...

A Question For Biab Gurus Out There...

Chefs (even the master Types) have been using Mulin foir over 50 years to boil food up in. So I think they have been the Guinea Pigs for BIAB.

    Cold Break Experiment

Great experiment. I am doing 12 litre half size BIAB batches and cool the Pot in the Swimming Pool (It is currently at 7 degrees due to Melbournes great weather). Takes about 20 minutes to cool to yeast pitching temp. However, when pouring the cold wort into the Fermenter, I have about 30% of...

    Coopers Carbonation Drops

Highly recommend the simplicity of Carb Drops. The Coopers ones I use are all identical in size and give a precise measurment. If you want to over complicate it, or cannot afford them, then use one of the other methods.

    Thank You

But the bloke at the LHBS is selling stuff - so part of his job. Why some of the so called "experienced brewers" post nonsense such as "have you used the search engine" or "I'm sick of answering that question" and are extremely rude to Noobs is totally bizarre. No-one forced them to even...

    Slowbeer Melbourne

Well, Eventually got through all 12 - and I've added my opinions below - but remember these are just MY OPINIONS - I like Anchovies on my Pizza's, don't like Mushrooms - so we are all different. Bridge Rd Brewers Beechworth Pale Ale (330ml) - 5/10 not to my taste - Hops too strong Goodieson...

Kit And Kilo With Cane *shudders* Sugar

Yeah, Cane Sugar is despised on these forums. That said, I often use it and it gives me beer that I like. I am not a big beer, strong hops type beer drinker - I just prefer something light and refreshing with plenty of alcohol - so white sugar works for me. p.s.. Don't tell anyone, but I...

Using An Aquarium Heater To Regulate Fermenting Temperature

Dan, sounds like an excellent idea - I have an old tropical fish tank heater but always been worried about infection and the fact that it gets very hot. I might pull out my heater and try the water bath idea - I like that it will not change the temperature too fast or in one spot.

How Much Does A Single Hop Pellet Weigh ?

Instead of all of the smart-ass replies - maybe somebody could help the original poster ???? I have often thought the same thing - that it would be easier tio just count the Pellets rather than weigh them.
