What Do You Do With Your Waste?

Brewing all grain creates a lot of solid waste, what does every one do with theirs? My grain goes to a mate with chickens and my trub gets flushed. Ash

    New Hopback

Gday I have just finished building my new hopback. I ended up going with seals and threads rather than welding and it means everything is removable/de-constructable for cleaning etc. It could even be used as a mini mash tun for 'trial' stove top mashes etc. Its going to get its first run...

    Fermenter Types

Cylidro-conicals always seem to be regarded as the best type of fermenter for home brewing and every one seems to want to get them but i havent seen too many people with them. I will be going to Stainless CC's as soon as i decide what size to go, or if wortgames gets them going and they are...

    Hand Pump

Can we as home brewers get hand pumps? I know that the beer would be oxidized within a day or 2 but for half of a batch, rack into a mini fermenter when bottling the rest. add some dry hops and serve from a hand pump for a party. Could you serve it straight from the fermenter if you did this?

    Makeshift Mash Return/sparge Arm

Made this today with some bits of junk laying around in my shed. The height is adjustable depending on the size mash, here it is set to 20L for my next brew. The tube has about 15 slits in it made with a hacksaw which will hopefully be enough to let the flow from the march pump and coil to come...

First Runnings For Lower Gravity Beers.

Has any one tried this? Basically Im thinking of making some sort of ale as normal but mash a little warmer and not sparge at all and adding water to the kettle to get the volume right. Its an expensive way of making a lower grav beer but im not brewing to save money but to make great beers.
