Flow problem with KK flow control taps

I found with this style of tap that the position of the flow control cone when attached to the font/shank effected the flow. I found with mine that they would sit further into the cone if the flow control was not in the full stop position when installed, reducing the space between the socket...

    What Went Wrong? Bohemian Pilsner

This might seem silly, but are you sure the saaz was 6.3% not 3.6%. Most of the saaz (czech) advertised with the sponsors is closer to the latter. This would explain the sweetness.

    Supamix Gas Mixutre

the way I understand it there is considerable difference in solubility of the two gasses, which is why pubs use a mixture, as the pressure they require due to line length would result in a slow moving beer becoming overcarbonated if they used co2 alone. If you were to carbonate your beer with...

    Altbier

It is a lager yeast. With dried yeast the range is somewhat limited. A lager yeast would possibly work better in this circumstance. However if temp control is the concern, you could try the dried swiss lager that has been discussed lately as clean at 19c. I guess a us05 at low temps might...

    Altbier

You did say munich 3, and the only munich 3 is the cara, so a fair guess by GB. Anywho, I'd be tempted to go more 60% pils 25% munich II 13% vienna 2% carafa special III for colour Hops should be good. As there is pils in there I would be doing a 90 min boil, and depending on yeast a diacetyl...

    Kegging For Beginners

I tried the ross method and it didnt work(mostly my fault I think), however I came across another method that sat better with me, and seemed a fair compromise. Involved setting things to serving pressure, and then sitting infront of a good show, and gently rocking the keg fro 1/2 hr, then...

    Larger Brew Stopped Bubbling

Dont panic, leave it at 14 for another few days and check again :) . Also, go to the articles section above and check out the new to brewing catagory. There is a article there on airlock not bubbling. While comforting, it is not a definitive sign.

What Do You Do With Your Waste?

Manticle, Haven't heard anything about cats, in fact have heard of cats eating pellets, but there was something on some 9 or so reported cases of dogs suffering a Hyperthermia temp reaction to eating hop flowers that caused them to die from overheating within 24 or so hrs. Search hops killing...

What Do You Do With Your Waste?

+1 to the possible issue with hops and dogs(I dont what my dog possibly getting acute overheating). So the grain goes around the trees and garden as mulch, after cooling, andthe hops/trub go in the compost(that is sealed and away from dogs availablility).
