    Pilsner with NZ Hops

Yes, I used Riwaka late in the boil and 2124 yeast. Turned into a beautiful Pilsner with a fruity twist. One of my all time favourite brews. I'll post up the recipe when I get home tonight.

S-189 lager yeasts at Ale temps

I really don't like S-189, I've used it so many times at 10 deg, 12 deg and 18 deg and it just comes through as bland and boring, no matter what style. I much prefer W34/70 or WY2124 for lagers.

European Beer Tour - Where would you go and Why?

In Belguim, add Brugge. Hit up t'brugs beertje and Cambrinus. Also do a tour of the Haalve Maan brewery. Also if you are in Brussels, check out the Cantillion brewery and Moder Lambic Fountainus if you are into sour beers. In Germany, you could also try Cologne and/or Dusseldorf. Bamberg...

Ferment Fridge Build - To Heat or Not to Heat in Brisbane?

I'm in Brisbane and I don't use a heater in winter. It only gets cold enough to need one for about a month if you only brew ales. I brew Lagers in winter and ales in summer. Love a good Bock or Schwartzbier in the colder months.

Losing interest, what to do... Help!

What about buying Fresh Wort Kits? You can keep them for months and then just tip into the fermenter and add yeast when you have spare time. I did this for about 6 months after my second child was born and it was quick and way too easy. I also keg, so it makes it even quicker as you only have...

How can a Smack pack not even be good for only 3.5L of wort!

You're trying to ferment out 45 L of lager with one smack pack at 60% viability? As suggested above, you'll need at least two starter steps to get to the required pitch rate. Pitch the smack pack into a 2.0 l starter and step up to a 5.0 l one. That should give you the 750 billion you need.

Craft beer (bars/bottle-o) in Shailer Park, QLD

Just head to Bacchus Brewing at Capalaba; well worth the 30 min drive. Other than that, Dan Murphy's is your best bet. All the good bars and bottle shops are a lot closer to the CBD.

    Video Games

Totally agree, Witcher 3 is an amazing game. Way better than Dragon Age Inquisition. I got bored with that very quickly. I'm still playing through Blood and Wine, but I keep getting distracted by the excellent side quests and Gwent.

How far have you progressed in the main quest? It gets a bit better as you venture further into the wasteland and meet new NPC's. Make sure you check out the Museum of Witchcraft too.

    Suggestions for good sours?

You should be able to get Lindemans, Timmermans, Tilquin, Boon, Oud Beersel, 3 fountain, or maybe even Cantillion from good specialist bottle shops. Then it's a case of trying the Gueuze, Oud Gueze, Kreik, Oud Kreik and Frambiose if they have any.
