High gravity mashing and pre fermentation dilution

Thanks for the awesome reply. I guess experimentation will prevail :)

High gravity mashing and pre fermentation dilution

Would this be taken care of in brewing software like beer smith?

    Kettel hole punches

Kettel is full of water atm, doing a leak check It doesnt have much material inside of the thread, and it only just fits a 48mm hole. I'd be surprised if internal diameter was less then 42-44mm

    Kettel hole punches

Got them from still dragon, they not cheap, and they suppose to be for a flat lit on some still boiler but they worked a treat on my 165lt nano pot. Not a leak in sight. And still plenty of tightening available. https://www.stilldragon.com.au/2-triclamp-ferrule-to-pot-adaptor/

    Kettel hole punches

The Q-max 48mm punch worked a treat. Easier then drilling the 12.5mm clearance hole for the punches bolt haha. Made a tidy little hole and now I have myweldless 2" TC bulkheads fitted up like a champ

High gravity mashing and pre fermentation dilution

Yeah I figured it was more then ok given I'll adjust IBU for the full volume. My new system will be HERMS and I should easily be able to do up to 60kg grain with 2.5lt/kg. As the herms systems are quiet efficient I thought high gravity brewing would be good. I'll then have the required water at...

High gravity mashing and pre fermentation dilution

Gday all, Considering running my new set up to make high gravity wort. No chill into cubes and then dilute before fermentation. For example. For a 1.06 OG beer I'll mash it for 1.1 OG, store in 15lt cube and dilute to 25lt for fermentation which will be 1.06 OG. Malt bill and hops will...

    5500w ULWD ripple elements

Thanks heaps fot the reply, I wish I had a mega meter to try see if the resistance breaks down with higher voltage. I woulda thought as they heated up etc the insulation resistance would have reduced. Let's hope they are ok and that they just work without issue :)

    5500w ULWD ripple elements

So ohms law suggests anything above 8k ohms will consume less then 30mA @240VAC, and thus shouldnt trip out the RCBO? Still really considering new elements but the seller wount refund them as they say they present no electrical hazard. Oh well the 200lt brewery builds shall continue. This...

    5500w ULWD ripple elements

G'day ladys and gents, I just got the 4x 5500w ripple elements I ordered. All are 10.8 ohm resistance across the terminals, that's all good. But where the issue is, is that between either terminal and the case/earth terminal 2 are open circuit, all good right, but 2 are 50M ohm, which some...

MashMaster fluted mill and HD drill complete setup Brisbane

Sounds like I need something like your big mill. Mashing 40-60kg at a time with 5kg hopper does ya head in. Is it still just a mash master fluted mill with motion dynamic controller and bigger custom hopper? This is what I was considering doing? Cheers
