Looks good and hoppy! What difference to taste will the wheat and oats provide overall? I am also going to go for no chill next brew. Am I right in thinking that your cube hops are what might have been used for the 60min hops, I can't seem to work out this cube hopping business!

Ha ha, yes I think it will. It's been great so far, and teaching me a new level of patience! It's great having this resource of help/advice/info at hand though, it's a bit of a minefield at first hey. Cheers.

It works out at 63.5% efficiency, I'll take that in spades for first attempt.

@Schikitar recipe is just the standard APA recipe kit from Cleverbrewing.com.au Batch size 23 litres (I managed to retrieve 21 overall) OG 1.052 (I managed 1.047 but may have diluted my wort by adding water after the boil...) FG 1.013 (I am currently reading 1.016 after 2 weeks) 4.09kg Golden...

Tell you what, if that beer ends up tasting as good as that fridge smells at the moment I'll as happy as a pig in sh!t...

Yeah, I see your point. It's not as if I would even need another fermenter as such. I guess any food grade container would suffice. In fact, if I was to buy a 20 litre jerry can I could use that as a no chill cube in the future... hmmm. Food for thought.

A further question. I am planning on cold crashing for a few days and adding gelatin to clear the beer before bottling. I only have one fermenter at the moment and was planning on bulk priming in that, then bottling and bringing temp back up to 18c for a few weeks conditioning. My intended...

Thanks for all advice and answers, already looking forward to the next attempt and not even tried this one out yet! Bubbling started through airlock after 12 hours and then went absolutely mental for the next 24 or so. Then nothing, I'm not bothered though, I've had a look at other good threads...

Yes I think more water next time round, but how would I go about sparging for BIAB? Do you mean use the decent sized container to hold the water and pour that through the grain bag into the wort?

Its fair to say that I am a complete novice to this homebrew scene, I mean I love ale and the vast majority of craft beers but never considered to make it myself. Until now! I read a few (in fact many, including the 'How to Brew' bible by John Palmer) articles and decided to bypass kits/extract...

Hey mate, I'm located in Kinross, 20 mins north of Perth, yourself? I'll probably have a browse to see if there are any home brew clubs over here.

Hey all, Just ordered all my kit ready to get stuck into the world of BIAB. Looking forward to getting my first batch underway and sharing the ups and downs! Looks like this is the site to come to for info, plenty of experience being shared about. Great stuff, look forward to...
