Bohemian Lager Yeast (Mangrove Jack's M84)

overpitch in my opinion. super clean, and fast, ferment. 60-90 seconds of o2 if you can. incidentally, that pils was made using slurry from my previous lager made with m84. it was a no-chilled beer i had sitting at about 4-5c. i rehydrated 3 packs and pitched at about 8c and let it free rise to...

the milestone pilsner. this version had pilsner, carapils, saaz to 40 ibu and m84 yeast and was lagered for 8 weeks before opening the keg this weekend in celebration of my son’s 2nd birthday. it was a cracker. the milestone beer changes style or recipe every re-brew and is brewed whenever my...

    Consistent high FG

with biab I'm assuming it's a temp issue. I experienced a similar thing when I biab'd except had the opposite where my FG was always 4 or more below. I think it was the inconsistency in temperature throughout my mash which was causing it. also, how much specialty malt are in your recipes? what...

Dedicated Grainfather Guide, Problems and Solutions Thread

sadly i haven't got to brew it yet - it's on the list now with thousands of others but i'll be brewing it before too long. i recently did a wheat beer with 50% wheat and 50% ale, and used about 200gm rice hulls. there was no issue at all with the sparge. i'll definitely be using them for any...

What are you brewing in 2017 ?

    put on a simple hefe today. i must say, no-chilled hefes are the quickest and easiest-to-clean-up-afterwards beers around. 50% ale 50% wheat rice hulls 55/5, 63/35, 72/30, 75/10 to 1.045 CaCl - 100ppm, CaS04 - 18ppm, pH - 5.4 magnum to 12 ibu no-chilled and will use m20 at 19c (unless i get my...

    BIAB Trub

i can see beer left on top of your trub pile. you could also get an elbow fitting for inside your kettle so it pulls beer from the side. that helped net me a good 1-2L more when I BIAB'd

    Whats In The Glass

the white lager pilsner, munich, wheat, hersbrucker and m84. crystal clear as i've been using the clear beer draught system which pulls beer from the top of the keg. sexysexyfunmouthtime
