    KegLand Questions and Answers

Plenty of people on the Australian homebrewing facebook groups have mentioned getting one.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

They announced the day before on the Facebook page that the pill was coming out, and again the next morning they gave the time. If you missed those notifications, then unlucky to you. Seems like people here have never experienced things selling out really quick. I tried to get some Foo Fighters...

Honestly, you missing out is on you. Other people got one, probably by refreshing the page constantly. If you did you might have got one too. They clearly mentioned the increase and reasons why in the product description.

    Australian Barleywine

It's now 35 days since I bottled this and my impatience got the better of me and I opened one 😁 Barely any carbonation to speak of, but the smell is just like rich crystalline honey and butter on toast. Taste wise there's still a little of that honey, but the molasses from the brown...

Mod meltdown 2 here we go again

What I find remarkable is that despite the best efforts of a certain few members, KL are still site sponsors and post/respond fairly regularly. I've been involved with many different forums over the past 20+ years as member, moderator and admin, and the number one turn off is people bitching...

IBT-2X Giveaway of inkbird meat thermometer

You're reading too much into it, or can't help stirring the pot. On HomebrewTalk they've only had 46 entries to date.

    Taste test

Given the style of beer you prefer, you likely won't notice much difference between extract and AG. The differences really become apparent when you compare full flavoured beers.

    Australian Barleywine

Seems it has finished after 3 weeks with a stable FG of 1.019. It currently cold crashing and I'll bottle it sometime next week. Has anyone put an oak chip or two in each bottle to add a bit extra to the beer? I wouldn't add too much so they don't get over-oaked, but surely only a few chips...

    Australian Barleywine

So I did brew this 10 days ago and it's fermenting nicely. Gravity is currently 1.035 (down from 1.100) and still falling. Brewfather says I should expect 1.016 but that might be a bit of a reach - I'll be happy if it makes it to 1.025. Didn't end up using any oats, and my efficiency was only...

    Australian Barleywine

Normally I couldn't either, but I've got ~150L of different beers already kegged or fermenting and I managed to get a "spare" weekend. I've already got the ingredients, so figured I'd give it a crack!

    Australian Barleywine

Thanks Mark. I've been hitting 85-87% brewhouse efficiency on all brews recently, but they haven't been higher than 1.054. My pre-boil gravity is estimated to only be 1.063 so I hope it's not too much of a stretch. I might start the mash at 66C then let it rest overnight - has ended up around...

    Australian Barleywine

Does anyone here have much experience with Barleywines? I'm planning the attached Australian Barleywine but would love some feed back on it. I'm using Nottingham yeast as I will soon have the trub from a faux Australian lager to use. NZ malts are included because 1 - it's what I have and 2 -...

    Talus and Ekuanot hops

Has anyone tried Talus and Ekuanot hops together? I'm working on a APA recipe using them but wanted to check they don't clash before wasting them. https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/1176701/not-talus

    Kegland online shopping

Not sure about needing to be an IT expert to use the site. It is very slow, but works no different to any other online store. Speed of delivery is also slow, but you'll probably find they have a way higher volume to process than other HBS's but can only use the same number of staff.

Another Inkbird Temp controller ITC-308 wifi Giveaway +Brewing Heat pads

Just bought my first ITC-308 wifi a few weeks ago and already love it! Another to replace my homemade STC-1000 box would be fantastic.

Improving efficiency when using wheat and oats

Thanks Mark. I did crush the NEIPA grains slightly larger than the bitter. My thinking was to reduce flour to reduce the chance of a stuck sparge. How would I go step mashing on a 3V system? Could I just mash the wheat and oats with some of the malt, then periodically add boiling water to...
