Thanks mate, loved it. Will definitely be signing up for the next one (and hopefully competing too). I think I tried at least 10 styles that I had never even heard of before!
Have a look on here and see if any of these might ring a bell?

I find I sometimes get a harsh aftertaste I can't quite describe, but it's always when my beer is green, or I didn't ferment long enough.
I just used US05 for the first time. Today is day 5 (pitched on Saturday) and I have opened the fridge every night and saw zero bubbling. Just took a reading and it's 1008 down from 1045. This yeast is amazeballs!
Definitely reusing the sludge for the next batch.
I originally signed up to steward Sunday arvo, but should be good for the whole day now. Should I register again, or just rock up at 8:30 and let someone know?
Yeh didn't really think about that lol. I've also been meaning to chuck in a Campden tablet as well.
But I definitely think that water quality doesn't crack the top 3 to worry about as long as your tap water is drinkable.
As for OP, the easiest thing to do is to go to your local homebrew store...
I just place the probe against the fermenter with a couple of paper towels on the outside (fridge side), taped on. I find it's pretty accurate!
I usually aim for 10-12 days fermentation then a couple of days cold crash.
I find the two biggest factors for me with a hangover is Sugar content and water intake (of course). I can mix an all manner of drinks, but it's mainly those two things.
If I have a G&T after a few beers (my fav) i'll opt for diet tonic water, and try and skol a glass of water every couple of...
I had the opposite experience. Used liquid once and never again. It was sticky and messy and got everywhere. I don't even think I managed to get all of it out of the tub. Plus you need to use more of it.
Thanks for this tip. I just mix it straight with the boiling water, but have no issues...
Finings work best when the beer is cold. What I do is crash to 2* overnight (takes a while to go from 20-2) and first thing in the morning add Finings. I then leave that for 24hrs minimum.
