    What Is Your Main Manliness

I once drove a tractor for work. I have hairs on my chest. My turds sink to the bottom. I fart when I need to. In bed, on the train, in the office, at the cricket crease... My most used consumables in the shed are: CRC, brakleen, Cable ties & duct tape

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

I'm away on a work trip interstate, stopped by a local bottleo on the way back to the hotel and grabbed a 4 pines esb. First time I've had it and it's really yummy. Love to be able to make something like this as home brew

Brew day - back in Aus... Coopers "family secret" amber ale

Sounds good Pete, glad it turned out well. Yes it looks quite dark. I've got one in the fermenter now, just the kit can + 1 kg dry malt and it's pretty dark too.

    First brew Bootmaker

Cool, goodluck with this one. If it forms a good layer of foam just leave it and check gravity 10-12 days from today. No point wasting beer + checking if it's still going!

    First brew Bootmaker

If the yeast is working the gravity me the liquid will be lighter. Water has an SG of about 1 for reference

Looking for a Christmas/Winter ale recipe

Great idea, extract or all grain?

    First brew Bootmaker

Gday hitman, I've just made exactly that recipe. Hopefully bottling over the weekend. Just peel the labels off and put both tins into the clean sink or large pot with hot water from the tap for 10-15 mins (softens the gloopy malt) Pop the kettle on. Empty both tins into your sanitised...

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Stumbled upon this at Dan Murphy's last week: Chevalier Saison - Bridge road brewers Beechworth. Very clean light pilsner malt profile, quite tart and slightly sour. Absolutely stunning. Comes in at 6% and super refreshing. Pity there was only one 4 pack there... First time I've ever seen a...

    Coopers bookmakers pale ale

Bugger that's really frustrating! Sounds like a sanitation or fermentation issue. We all know many factors can cause bad beer. Have you changed any of equipment or processes?

    Problems with PET Bottles

Interesting... Only time I had trouble with exploding bottles (pet or glass) was when I lived in Perth. Main contributing factor would have been negligence and lack of knowledge

    How To - Gelatine

I'm 2 years into kit/extract brewing with temp control and bottling only. Recently moved to using gelatin after a year of cold crashing and Gelatin does pretty very well. A couple of times I've rushed the process and bottled to quick after adding gelatin (36hr mark approx) and there was too much...

    Super Aroma - Hop Shots

I hear you Jesse, time is bloody hard to grab lately. I'm yet to try too. I'm a kitter so intending to try it with the new Thomas Coopers brew A IPA and Bootmaker. Make batch as usual, bottle half straight from fermenter. Then add maybe 1ml from Citralicious and 1ml from Victory to bottling...

    Cars

Thanks guys. Yeah that's one thing Aussie's do, **** can our own good products. This one is a cracker of a car. A shame it was dismissed by most when the Territory was released. It's a very capable vehicle and IMHO very difficult to ignore. It's fun to drive on the asphalt, actually pretty...

    Cars

So... Took an 80 series Cruiser diesel and an Adventra v8 for a fandangle today. Cruiser was a machine and I love the road presence! but also a tank to drive. Would be amazing for any camping trips or long road trips. Bit of a slug though and too big for my carport side by side with the falcon...

    Cars

Agree, yes if we didn't have kids I'd possibly stick with the wrx. Toddler on backseat, porta cot, pram/stroller, bags, toys, gifts etc for country family birthdays Xmas etc. Obviously homebrew beer supply (usually an esky full). Camping gear also if it's that type of trip. 70 or 80 series...

    Cars

Yeah I really love the Subaru build quality and driving enjoyment. They are just too small in on opinion for what we want to throw in the back. The outback would be perfect if it's boot was a bit bigger. I took a territory for a spin, it was quite nice to drive also. Car like handling really...

    Cars

Thinking of getting something bigger than my Subaru impreza wrx hatch, to cater for a growing family + weekend camping trips etc. Nothing too serious but like to be able to tow a camper trailer and other things. The wrx just doesn't have enough space in the boot. One pram just fits, shopping...

    Beerfest 2016 - Melbourne Brewers 26-27 Feb

Just bottled an Azacca Citra APA tonight, too bad it wasn't made 4 weeks ago :-[

    Beerfest 2016 - Melbourne Brewers 26-27 Feb

Sounds good Yob. Last night I placed 3 entries. American pale ale, Hefeweizen and a Bohemian Pilsner. Had to throw the pilsner into an esky + heat pad to help carb it up a bit more, it was still pretty flat 2 weeks ago. I can't make it again this year, hopefully I can sort my priorities out next...
