    I have Bru'n water and treat mash and sparge and same as you I top up fermenter to get correct gravity All I use is water out of my 2 stage filter and boil and chill before use. Never worry about any extra salts

    I bought 6 x 20L HDPE dangerous goods cubes in early 2013 I have used them for 207 brews. Thats an average of 34 brews each and still going strong cost $72 - $12 each That works out at about 35 cents each brew and nil transport costs either and they are always in stock

    They will fit a milk crate nicely. Look carefully at the side of a milk crate and you will see a half-round moulding that the groove in the neck of the bag fits into snugly

    As above post #21 Whirlpool and wait 15-20min with the lid on (to minimise convection currents) keep lid on boiler till cube full transfer to cube and leave the last 1-2 litres in the kettle Good to budget for 22 litres in cube and 2 litres waste after boil

    The CO2 in the sample is coming out of solution and attaching to the hydrometer and making it lighter BTW I hope you don't mean into the whole brew rather than just a sample
