    Belgian Pale Ale

@Chris79, sorry I could not say. Unlikely at my local Dans, but you should check online. Surely there are some companies who look after these styles. I have not tasted all of the above beers either. Maybe contact your local Belgian Beer café and find where they source their Belgian pale ales. I...

    Australian Amateur Brewing Championship

NO! Judging panels very stressful, to get things just right to ensure a fair result, and provide some sort of feedback that may help the brewer (not knowing the ingredients/ methods/ ferment regime/ bottling regime/ carbonation level/ beer age). ...and it's unlikely you'd be ON a panel judging...

Brewtech SS fermenting vessels discussion thread

Do you need the stopper AND airlock height? I'll measure it today, if you provide me with your requirements. Frankly, you could easily just leave the lid off and use clingo wrap.

    Belgian Pale Ale

Sorry to say that I have a problem with Ardennes, and think that the phenols are too harsh and unbalanced. Just taste an Achouffe beer and a De Koninck to help you chosse between them. You may prefer the flavour of Corsendonk, which is available as Leuven yeast

    Belgian Pale Ale

Belgian Schelde - it's the flavour profile. soft malt and mild, balanced phenolics, with a tasty blend of esters. I'm drooling now...

    Belgian Pale Ale

I like Jamil's De Koninck tribute pale ale, with Belgian pils malt and Belgian Caramunich and biscuit. BYO magazine Jul-Aug 2008. Kent Goldings for bittering and aroma, and Wyeast PC Belgian Schelde yeast. Really appealed to my tastebuds. *Edit: T-58 dry yeast is probably OK, as is S-33...

    Kegging Setups

Got another keg today (arrived, actually, not just purchased). 20 litre Orion beer commercial keg (S-type connector). Bought it as a 30 litre size. Total cost landed was under $58 from Gumtree. Should I be disappointed by the size? Do I have enough kegs yet?

    Aldi specials

Flensburger Weizen - Best before 8.7.17. Smells OK, but weak banana flavour to balance the phenols, and a bit flat. Would be disappointed if I brewed one like this. I should have bought the Pils. I have not seen the Flensburger Gold, but I hear it's one of the BJCP classic examples of a...

What did you buy while pissed last night?

Went to Big W and spent $100 on clothes and shoes (size 10) yesterday. They had a few things I wanted, so I tried on some trousers and bought me some boxers (for cooler Summer sleeping) and a bright tangerine polo shirt. I now have some comfy Chinos and Cargo pants (size 38). Must have just...

    Australian Amateur Brewing Championship

I hope you're right, as I'll feel quite the fool turning up to judge and no beer to be assessed. Contrarian, the beers for the Nats can vary, depending on if they are re-brewed or stale, or a single off bottle, etc.

Style Of The Week 21/6/06 - Altbier

Just tasting a couple of litres of this Alt tonight. Has lagered well , and the fruitiness is coming out, along with maltiness. The bitterness is becoming less broad and a lot cleaner. I'm starting to like this style. Shame I only have about 25 litres left in an old Becks keg. Time to get back...

    What are you Brewing 2016?

I did not mean any offence, and I bow to your experience. I recall that the salt was crucial to the flavour, and variations were obvious. So, why not share a great beer? I have on several occasions, and it improves the brew community. I'm sure that Barry appreciated my Berliner case swap beer...

    What are you Brewing 2016?

I hope you have not put that full amount of SALT in the beer. I think you should start with 5 grams and then add a little at a time to taste. Look for Doc's Gose recipe and see what happened when he went with a huge whack of salt. Apart from that, I've brewed it a few times and it's an...

    Car'n Doggies

You say that like it's a bad thing? Did anyone notice Super Mario come up to get his medal? I think he should be tested for 'shrooms.

    What are you Brewing 2016?

Brewed the Kostritzer-style Schwarzbier again today, as I have won the opportunity to present it to the public, for judging at Bitter and Twisted festival. 44 litre batch, and may have achieved about 95% brewery efficiency, 30 litres for me and 10ish litres for the punters at B&T. Link above...

    Whats In The Glass

I too noticed the sneaky bling placement in the photo. Dastardly Contrivance, and hey, there's a name for a beer.

    WTB: Font taps

Chris, you are looking for pushloc (iirc) taps, as the recess in the tap adaptor accommodates a pin in the tap base, that prevents the tap from spinning in the fixture. Took me a while to find some of those for my two cobra fonts, but you might be lucky and someone here can help you out...

w34/70 - What can I use the yeast cake for thats not a lager?

That's what we have a category called hybrid beers, lagers fermented at ale temp, so not necessarily a lager, but some lager characteristics. Some styles mentioned above, in my post.
