    Heated Digital Stirplates

Hi, the preliminary results are in. I left the experiment running for a few days, monitoring ambient and liquid temps with the plate set to 29C since the weather is so hot. You probably wouldn't want to run your starters at this temperature in real life: Link to the actual data...

    Embedding iFrames in AHB

Hey guys, I'd like to embed an iFrame in one of my posts to show a live chart of a starter's temperature that I'm logging. E.g. <iframe width="450" height="260" style="border: 1px solid #cccccc;"...

    Heated Digital Stirplates

...and V6 is so exclusive that the only way to get onto the pre-order list is to create a parallel universe in which you're already on the pre-order list? Okay, so I set up an experiment to run over the next 24 hours or so. I'm measuring ambient room temperature and the wort temperature...

    Heated Digital Stirplates

Oh of course! Testing under practical conditions is important too, the only trouble is the weather hasn't been getting cold enough lately :D I'm stuck with the external probe design at the moment because there is no spare code space in my chip so I can't fit in the program to talk to the...

    Heated Digital Stirplates

Ahh.. Yob have you mixed up your stir plate with your vacuum cleaner again!? Seriously, it would be nice though. There's no substitute for testing and it's been difficult to get meaningful results with the changing weather lately. I.e Unless ambient temperature stays relatively stable the...

    Heated Digital Stirplates

Great feedback guys, I sincerely thank you. I think you're both referring to the kits, but the theory applies to our completed stir plates as well. Nobody wants a starter that goes out of whack when you're not watching it. I'm so tempted to add a WiFi -> Pushover option so you get a notification...

    Heated Digital Stirplates

Very interesting idea, a hot glue gun and a bit of left over foam could make a nice simple box to sit over the setup and really let the temperature stabilise. Awesome, I love your enthusiasm! We're still working out our costings, as soon as the PCBs land and we know what cut customs wants to...

    Heated Digital Stirplates

Thanks for the great feedback Yob, I recently completed some new firmware with a "hold the down button when turned off to set the temperature" feature. It should be much easier to use than the 2 button approach. I wish I could post you a firmware update, how are you with a soldering iron :) Give...

    Recommend a stir plate?

We're working on that too, the current design is a little costly to produce though so it's back to the drawing board for now.

    Recommend a stir plate?

Yep, the heated version is in the works, just a few more bugs to iron out so it should be ready in time for Christmas when you don't need a heater anymore

    Recommend a stir plate?

I just got word from our PCB fab house this morning that it will be approximately 4 weeks for delivery for the new stock because there's a hold up with the fans :( We've changed our primary currency across to USD on the website due to the economics of our business and the plummeting AUD, but...

    Recommend a stir plate?

Regarding the flasks, I love the 3L flasks and use them more than my 5L one. The smaller flask helps if you've gotta fit it in the fridge to decant. The 5L is still handy for high gravity and lagers though.

PM sent ken. It'll be about a month for our next batch to arrive but we can still cobble a few more together using an older artwork on the front for peeps that can't wait.

    Digital Homebrew's 'Digital Stirplate'

Hi, I just stumbled across this thread (my google alerts weren't set up right!). I trust Brooke eventually got back to you because I remember the story about the cattle fence  For anyone else that comes across this thread in the future looking for specs, the adapter for the Digital...

    Wine fridge at Aldi

I expect the fan will be enclosed somewhere up the top near the LEDs but that's only a guess. It could be on the side like the keg master ones too. The fan is separate to the evaporator. Evaporator is just a fancy word for the big metal plate on the back that gets cold, and having a fan makes...

    Wine fridge at Aldi

Hey I just took a closer look and in their third picture you can see an evaporator on the back of the fridge. Here's a direct link, it's that bendy serpentine panel so don't worry about all these Peltier/Thermoelectric shenanigans :) No doubt those second hand fridges are probably better...

    Wine fridge at Aldi

It would be neat to have a well sized fridge with a glass door on front to show off all my stainless bling. Fingers crossed they've engineered something that will maintain the advertised 5 celsius on a hot day. I've been working a lot with thermoelectric coolers (peltiers) lately and I doubt...
