The trick to getting a good place to sleep is to show up completely unprepared and look pitiful guys FYI

Well I just took a sample off my swap beer, it has finished fermenting so I'll get it bottled tomorrow. I didn't realise how much more smoky the cherrywood is in comparison to most normal rauchmalt, I went at 37.5% and the sample from testing was ****** smoky. So at least Ben will be excited. I...

    Oak Infusion Spirals - EOI

Seeing as there is minimal interest, I think at this stage we could get away with using Auspost Shopmate and just order what we need and split freight unless we get much more interest. Have a look around and see what you like

    Oak Infusion Spirals - EOI

Hey guys, just putting out an expression of interest. Seeing as the US love to **** us on postage rates, I figured I would put something up here. I was considering ordering a few different oak infusion spirals via the US for some future brewing projects, the required amount for a 20-25L batch...

    Voyager brand 'craft' malt

As a point of reference, I got a sack from Nick of the Veloria about a year ago. I have a feeling (just confirmed) that my baltic porter/imperial dark lager from the 2015 Xmas in july swap was brewed with it. As a confirmation - it was definitely. 73.5% veloria 10% vienna 3.8% melanoidin 5.3%...

Is it just me or is there bigger numbers at this swap compared to the last one at Perry's? Looking forward to an off-chain night with all y'all. Maybe this time Angus will get the perfect combination of sticky sauce and not forgotten balls. ****. I may run into a new keg freezer earlier, as...

Just edited per the PM mark sent me. See you at the swap jerks! Also if I get around to it I might have a crack at making some kind of wursty thing.

Qld Christmas 2015 Case Swap TASTING

Just cracked into Barro's black cherry saison amidst some quite intense theoretical engine physics calculations. The joys of electives at uni hey? Bloody corker. I'm always super hesitant on a beer that says it does 3 things but this delivered quite well. I have doubts it would do well at a...

Qld Christmas 2015 Case Swap TASTING

23 - Ballantyne's Manuka rauch. Not a bad drop, but I got a bit of diacetyl. Also, personal taste but more smoke would be good. Ben has ruined my smoke receptors

Qld Christmas 2015 Case Swap TASTING

No. 19 - Phil's ipa - hop character has faded a bit, probably due to my storage time. Malt character is ******* phenomenal!! Loving this, would make for a great English bitter base!

Qld Christmas 2015 Case Swap TASTING

Liam's Black Brett saison. Coffee, chocolate and a touch of funk on the nose, looks black as the ace of spades with a nice head (unlike the drongo that brewed it). Big hit of funk on the front end, bit of other dark malt related business as the funk fades out. Not a bad effort at all mate...

Qld Christmas 2015 Case Swap TASTING

    13. Nicks APA thing - carbonation seems a touch high, bottle was more swollen than Liam's member, bit funky but still drinkable. Maybe infected

Qld Christmas 2015 Case Swap TASTING

Put down no. 21, the pineapple torpedo - spot on. Mirroring what Ben said, great beer. Currently into no. 20 - BPH87's Hefeweizen. Probably a bit dark for the style, lacking the head traditionally seen in the style but the taste is good. Maybe a tad underattenuated or under carbed. Overall...

Qld Christmas 2015 Case Swap TASTING

Earle - cascade amber ale - pretty solid. Normally not a fan of the style as some are underattenuated or overly sweet, but this is spot on. Well balanced with the cascade. Solid effort mate

    The Yeast Bay strains

I see you are also getting one of Martin's barrels! Hmm low 20's at the moment IIRC, about 22-23. I have a dedicated sour fridge that just has bug beers living in it

Thanks mate! My last swap beer is good to go as well, the imperial dark lager/Baltic porter.

    The Yeast Bay strains

Beersuit managed to find it (**** knows how) and get some over to Toowoomba Home brewers. They did a lambic on it and barrel aged it, I got a vial of that off him. This is the Flanders red at 4 months old
