    CraftBeerPI Brew Controller

I'd like to point out that my Fotek works perfectly fine. I think you need to be careful on which ones you get, as there are some fake ones out there.

    Biab Beer Designer Spreadsheet

Yep. All you need to do it enter your robobrew's parameters on the BIAB tab and you should be good to go. I think you'd need to set the type to crown urn in cell E4. Robobrew is just a fancy urn as far as I can see. Once you've done that you can enter your recipe details and volume on the...

I'm going to get rid of it and get a bigger one to build a boss keezer

    Dead kegerator :(

Good thinking re the STC. I'll try that.

    Dead kegerator :(

The other night I was about to keg two brews and when I opened the lid of my home made kegerator I saw that it was very warm. It's a freezer with an STC1000 replacing the thermostat. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I suspect the compressor has shat its dacks. The unit is getting power, and...

Anyone know where I can 90deg bend for co2?

Keg King in Melbourne would probably stock something: http://kegking.com.au/elbow-bend-1-2-bsp-male-x-1-2-bsp-female.html They have heaps of fittings, so you might be able to get a few bit to make what you need.

    Swollen cube (un-fermented)

My mate had the same thing happen. His cube exploded and he & his wife spent a Saturday washing the walls and ceiling.

    Free bottles

Free of course, but wouldn't say no to a bottle of home brew

    Free bottles

I'm about to do a big shed cleanup and plan to get rid of some bottles. I've got way too many. They will mostly be James Squire stubbies. Some might need a good clean. Before I bin them, anyone interested? I'll confirm numbers later today. Located in Greensborough, Melbourne.

Could it have been residual salts from the water?

Sounds like PID logic might be worth a try then. SO if I understand correctly, the PID logic will adjust/scale the output as it approaches target, which should reduce the chance of it overshooting wildly?

    Grolsch bottle alternative?

I can also confirm Flensburger bottles are good. Aldi were selling the beer for a while, and I stocked up for the bottles (and the cheap beer). I've also got some Altenmunster that I picked up cheap from a bottle-o. Both bottles are great.

    Dry hopping a Saison

Thanks for your thoughts. I think I will dry hop it, but might scale it back a bit so it's only subtle. I don't want to mask the yeast flavour.

    Dry hopping a Saison

    Bonsoir! I made my first Saison yesterday and have 22L of it in the fermenter now. Recipe was: · Pilsner Malt – 3.8kg · Acidulated Malt 0.17kg · Vienna Malt – 0.3kg · Wheat Malt – 0.9kg · Hallertau – 40g – 60 mins · Mandarina Bavaria – 10g – 20...

I'm also not that familiar with it. My understanding is most temp controllers are PID controllers. How does this option vary from the overshoot option? BTW, good advice re the reset button delay. I'll be sure to try that.

Yeah I thought it might have something to do with the order I hit the buttons. I might do a test with some water following the steps you've outlined. Regarding your big temp increase, something similar happened to me. I noticed that the probe had slipped a little bit out of the thermowell, and...
