Robobrew with In-Built Pump - My first AG brew

Just a thought, is the water hot when you read this? Hot water expands so when at boiling temps is about 1 L more than cooled. I had some irregularities with my measures on my keggle and it turned out to be that.

    Noob Kegging Questions

I agree with purging before filling. I had a beer go stale once and I put it down to mixing with oxygen in the keg. As others have pointed out, you're not pressurising you keg. Seal it up and connect gas. Turn gas on for a few seconds. Then release the valve. Do this a few times and most oxygen...

Building a Keg Collar - various questions on build etc.

Option 1 is best. I'd plane rather than sand. Maybe hand plane that for precision. If u need to gap fill, use a wood putty or filler. You can get matching stuff or close to from Bunnings. Once sanded and coated, should come out OK.

I probably don't need it really. Good luck.

Where in Melbourne are you located? I would be interested in one.

Building a Keg Collar - various questions on build etc.

A planer would be fine. I'd use a spirit level to see where the raised section is and colour it in with a pencil or marker then just plane that section. If you have access to an electric planer, you'll be done in 10 mins. If it'd wobbly because there's a dip rather than a bump on one corner...

The timber doesn't have to protrude out the front. If you make the two side panels shorter, you can have the wood flush with the front of the freezer. This will just mean you have it protruding on the inside of the freezer instead of the outside. You did say you wanted to insulate, so you were...

2017 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hop Garden!

Once these harvests are all complete, do people on this forum ever engage in trading hops? Having collected about 6kgs of cascade, I'd certainly be happy to trade a few vac sealed bags to get some variety.

That is a Soldier Beetle. A common sight in my childhood. Often seen walking in pairs with their bums stuck together. I haven't seen one in yonks.

What is everyone doing with these huge harvests? This is my first year, and I reckon I've got 6kgs of cascade wet. It's insane. There's NO WAY I'll use anywhere near that before next harvest. I've also spent hours picking and drying flowers. My wife is not pleased.

Yeah I've still got cascade on the bine. I think it's very close. Could be this weekend. Could be 2 weeks.

Thanks Rocker1986. That's very helpful! My main issue is I think they already feel papery. It's such a subjective thing.

I’m going to do a brew over the next week that will feature home grown hops heavily. What’s the rule for adding these to the recipe builder? I’m going to dry my flowers for storage. I know there’s a pellet / flower field. Do I select flowers only when using wet hops and leave it as pellet if I’m...
