    KegLand Questions and Answers

Kegland seem to be operating as a retailer too from what I can see, and why shouldn't they? In response to your question, I assume they buy their goods from kegking and kegland. That's my point. If those entities are going to compete with them directly, then start adapting your business. Source...

    2018 Hop Plantations

Is anybody interested in swapping some rhizomes? I have heaps of Cascade, and although I love it I am interested in some other varieties for dry hopping. I definitely don't need as much Cascade as I currently have. Mainly brewing US pales. I'm in NE Melb.

Making soda water with my keg setup- sodastream sort of thing

I did my first keg with soda water recently. Just used Melbourne tap water. Chilled, then put on the gas with same pressure as the beer. 1 week later, perfect!!

    KegLand Questions and Answers

That comment is a bit far fetched. If home brew stores are not willing to participate in an industry because one company out competed them, then good riddance. The market will always be there, and so will suppliers. There will always be sources of grain available. It's silly to think that...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

So a group of blokes threw some capital together to start a new venture to compete in their industry. Their prices are low and they’re gaining a competitive edge as a result. Sure that might be making life tough for some in the industry, but last time I checked, competition is not only legal...

    Kegland

My local shop too. Agree Dave is very friendly and it's a nice little shop. I only wish you could put in grain orders same day. Sometimes my brew is a last minute decision (usually if the wife and kids head off for the day). I'm usually told that I needed to have my grain order in a few days...

    Kegland

I'm pretty sure that's not a retail rule. You can have a business model with lower mark-up and higher volume. Factors that determine whether a business turns a profit or not are not limited by the mark up percentage.

    Show Us Your Beer Engines

I've got semi-wood from that. Very impressed!

    Drewgongs Kegerator

I often tint the lacquer with projects like this, rather than stain the timber. Different effect, but it's dead easy.

What's your favorite pale ale recipe?

Looks good! I've been brewing a lot of pales the last couple of years based on a recipe from The Electric Brewery's website. Essentially it's: 93% Pale 5% Light Crystal 50 2% Wheat Most of the time I use Viking Malt. I mix up the hops each time (Amarillo, Cascade, Citra etc), but almost...

Another Kegging (for a beginner) Thread

Heaps of info on here about what gear you need if you go that route. I'm sure lots of people will pipe in with suggestions. I'd go with some second hand ball lock kegs (and some new seals maybe), 2.6kg CO2 bottle, 4 way manifold, long shank taps (stainless ones. I have intertap, and I like...

    Hello

A bottle bomb can sit dormant for a long time. I've never seen one blow, but back in the early days I'd open the cupboard sometimes to find glass and beer everywhere. I'd hate to witness it unprotected.

It's available if you want it. The other guy no longer needs it. Here's some pics. Keep in mind it's been made from random parts (old PC fan, conduit, old power supply etc).

Another Kegging (for a beginner) Thread

1: My experience has been they store indefinitely. I'm probably wrong on this, but I've never had one go bad and one has been drinking for a year. 2: No. The availability of beer doesn't change. Just the method of dispensing it. My beer drinking behaviour isn't driven by the serving method...

Hi. I have a ghetto one I made that's not being used. I've just offered it to another guy on here so he currently has dibs. If he decides not to take it, I'll let you know.

    ESB Kits - Anyone used?

I recall buying one of the ESB Belgian Smoked cans about 10 years ago. It was revolting. It tasted like I was drinking smoked trout. That's not really an indication of their quality, more that I chose a style that wasn't for me. I'd forgotten all about that.
