Yeah I had one do that, it was in my fridge loose on the bottom. It got really hot, melted the plastic wall of the fridge and went black in a spot. As Feldon said I think they need to be on the fermenter so they don't get too hot.

Most home brewers (Myself included) are always hunting for a bargain, cheaper prices and arranging bulk buys, we're inherently bad for small businesses running on tight margins IMO.

I opened mine today and found that it seems very hard to push or suck air through it. When I opened the tap on my brew bucket the flow of starsan stopped until air was sucked in through the tap, it's not working well at all and I can totally see it getting spat out after I remove the blow off...

I haven't used one sorry but I have thought about buying one. If you want to drink your keg as fast as possible without rocking they look like a good thing. I have always just set my keg to around 1 bar and waited a week for the keg to be carbed enough to drink and 2 weeks for full carbonation...

I have heard you can grow from cuttings, you could give that a crack if you want to get going now. Just need a cutting I suppose.
