Yorkshire Bitter, 8.2 English Best Bitter

1469 is very versatile (and effing delicious) as well. Probably my favourite English strain. Happily run it fruity from low to mid 20s for a good English bitter with good yeast character, or keep it cleaner for an APA around 17.

    Is my beer infected

Has it finished fermenting and how does it taste? Certainly looks a bit funky.. Best case scenario is to keg and force carb and drink asap (don't bottle). Otherwise if it's already tasting funky (assuming you weren't trying for a sour style) then it may be destined for greener pastures.

    Mosaic extra pale ale

Worrying over nothing, there'll be a layer of CO2 to protect it. EDIT: But of course don't leave it too long. Two weeks will be fine though.

Having a whinge at the price of beer

I guess I haven't been down there for 3-4 years, but I definitely remember getting a shock when ordering. Maybe I am just attracted to the shady joints and they could smell the NS-welshman from a mile (1.6km) away.

Having a whinge at the price of beer

A little OT, but I always got annoyed going to SA and VIC for work purely from the fact that ordering a pint I'd get a schooner, and similarly ordering a schooner I'd get a middy/pot. As outlined above, why do these states not follow the general standards of 570mL pints, 425mL schooners and...

    Roasted Wattle Seed Ale

Woolshed brewery in Renmark do a wattleseed porter that is quite nice. Not a huge amount of wattleseed on the nose but gives a nice complexity. Might be worth throwing them an email? Seemed like a helpful place when I was last out there..
