    Voss Kveik Recipe Ideas

I’ve used it only once in a mild, which I dry hopped with dank US hops. Yum!. Light orange aroma which is pleasant. Not funky at all imho. My mate has done hoppy APAs with good results too.

    Yeast Starter

I used to be very precise about starters. Now I do 2L in my flask ( 200g DME and yeast nutrient ) boiled and cooled. Yeast pitched ( room temp ). Then swirl ( don’t use my stir plate much now ) every few hours overnight and pitch. Unless it doesn’t look active but I’ve never had issues, even...

Hot tips for enjoying the craft as a perfectionist

Plus 1000. I started all grain brewing before raspberry pi, recirc pumps and wifi hydrometers. The beer was fine then and still is now. Some people enjoy the process, some people enjoy the beer and some enjoy both.

    Sodium Percarbonate

I believe they have sodium perc in them but at lower percentages. I have 100% sodium perc. Though lots of people use the above products with no issues

Can I use sodium percarbonate to clean a brewzilla?

I do it often. I prefer it to PBW.

    Sodium Percarbonate

I prefer sodium percarbonate to PBW. For a keg that’s had beer in it recently I rinse out with water then use a few litres of water with sodium perc and swoosh around for a bit and soak overnight. It’s usually enough. If it’s filthy or been sitting for months I’d fill it up and soak a few days

    Any one seen this before!?

The formation of forks in the mash is a common issue, don’t worry the beer will turn out fine 😂

    Pliny The Elder Recipe

I had a few Green flash beers a few years ago. Expensive as hell but bloody good. West coast IPA stripped my tongue but in the nicest way possible haha

    Kviek Pitching Rates

IMHO If you pitch a fugg load of lager yeast at cold temps, it won’t need weeks upon weeks of conditioning.

How much sugar is too much?

I use dextrose a lot, I like light bodied beers. It will ferment out and will not add any sweetness at all.

    Brewtools B40 Advice and reviews

The price might have something to do with the fact there’s not many reviews

    50lt Keggle

I had pretty much the same thing for a few years, except gas fired. Simple and very effective. Great view!

    Grain for stout- soaking them

Ive been adding all dark malts at the end of the mash for years. Had issues with dark beers but once I started doing this, I’ve never gone back. And like you say, works great for no chill doublebatches

    Grain storage strategy

A black plastic 50L willow bin from Bunnings fits a sack snugly. Or those rectangular storage tubs with wheels are good for the bottom of your garage shelves ( if they fit ), just roll them out, scoop grains, then roll back under.

    Digi-boil.

I love my 35l robo but am tempted by the 65l digi boil. I wouldn’t sell my 35L though, it’s great. I’d happily have both. It’d be handy for double batches. Lots of great beers have been and are made without recirc pumps and fine tuned temp control, however the new single vessels that come with a...

Mini Reg vs Normal for party setup

I use a small gas bottle and normal reg. Had big issues with a mini reg from the start, rubbish

    No Krausen

I often don’t use my stir plate anymore, the swirl by hand works for me just fine. For ales under 5% which is mostly what I brew, I find no difference in yeast performance. Over 5% I usually make a midstrength beer and pitch on 1/3 of the cake. Last few sub 5% lagers I’ve just swirled by hand...

    IPA final gravity 1.001?

I prefer iodophor but i haven’t been able to find it locally. Last 5l bottle lasted over a decade.
