    Dans, The craft beer experts..NOT

Yeah they suck in there. I'll still shamlessley buy from there though. Even if the employees don't know a thing they still have the best range

    Dans, The craft beer experts..NOT

I worked at Dans for two years. Employee expertise varies from store to store, it all has to do with the store managers. The store I worked at we had staff beer tastings every week and a few of us were pretty good in the beer department. We had a beer panel and ****, customers always seemed...

    Stone and wood pacific

I'm honestly not the biggest fan of Pacific Ale. I find it a bit bland, possibly prefer a little more bitterness and flavour. I keep trying it every so often but always find myself a bit dissapointed. I've only had it from the bottle.

    AHB Biggest Loser Challenge!

I used to be really fit, but then I snapped my leg and couldn't move properly for about 12 months and it all went down hill from there. I started last week, at 107kg. My goal is a lean 85 - 90kg. I've set myself a goal of doing tough mudder next year. Small goals in between that, like being able...

    Matilda Bay: Dirty Granny Cider

From memory it was 1.010, I didn't write it down.

    spices

I have used spices in a cider before, I added them after initial ferment. It worked well, I could definitely taste the cinnamon and vanilla (It did ferment at 28 degrees, so tasted pretty foul but the spices were the only thing that made it drinkable :P). I have never added them during boil though.

    Sly Fox Summer Ale

Sly fox really isn't all that bitter, heaps of hop flavour.. The recipe I just created I added 2g Magnum @ 60. It only equates to 3.3 IBU but I didn't even think there would be a late hop addition at all. Would 3.3 IBU's really make much of a difference? Especially with a neutral hop like magnum?

    Matilda Bay: Dirty Granny Cider

fg didn't go low enough, not as dry as I was aiming for. Hopefully using a champagne yeast rather than the s-04 will do the trick

    Sly Fox Summer Ale

Thanks for that mate. Do you think, based on an extract recipe, any dex should be used? Or 100% DME? I feel like it should have a little dex to dry it out a bit?

    Sly Fox Summer Ale

How would you plan your hopping schedule if you were attempting to make it as close to a clone as possible?

    Sly Fox Summer Ale

Any good recipes? I quite like it for a lighter beer and would like to have a few ready for summer as my non beer drinking buddies like it too. Doing extracts at the moment as I don't have all my BIAB gear together yet, but would like to see recipes for extract and ag for when I do have all...

    Double reg setup

Yeah, I just swapped out the 2m of 6mm to 4m of 5mm. Slightly helped but its still not right. Thats why I assume it's overcarbed.

    Double reg setup

Bottom line..... no more force carbing.

    Double reg setup

These are my first brews in kegs. Keg no. 1 is beer which I let carb up itself, drinking one right now that pours perfectly (kind of surpised as I keep it at 15psi with 2 meters of 6mm ID beer line, didnt have to balance it at all) The second is a cider which I attemped a force carb and...

    Double reg setup

Thanks tahoose, When you say a "t piece" do you mean a fitting that connects to the co2 cylinder itself and the regs connect to it?

    Double reg setup

Hey guys, I've read that with some brands of regulators you can join two together to make it dual output. Can you do this with a keg king mkII reg? I currently have two kegs but will be getting a third. Ideally I would like to have one reg controlling 2 kegs (for beer) and the other reg...

    Kegging Setups

My first keg fridge. Simple but pimped. Old fridge for $50, used the same amount of money on the paint job  Sprayed in hammer finish silver all over apart from the freezer section which is blackboard paint. Pretty chalk sign thanks to the girlfriend :P The new "Happy Staffy"...
