    after restoring my shed from chaos due to a renno, I've found everything apart from my 02 reg and tube/stone - it's driving me crazy. I've got another reg from my portable keg setup, anyone know where I can get a fitting to connect the two?

    the ability to automate an electric setup was the kicker for me. running 2 x 3600w elements in a 100L pot - it ramps 80L at 1 deg per minute. In terms of cleaning, I went the tri-clamp fittings and removable elements. while pricey to set up it's great for cleaning and portability.

    As a temporary measure I dropped a couple of diecast aluminium boxes inside my kettle to elevate my grain basket off by elements, dropped a bit of sodium perc and met in the water at about 70c, rinsed then did a brew. when I finally took out the basket, I noticed the alu boxes had changed...

    if you read the thread and see the final design - there's just a schrader valve hanging off the unit - real simple and elegant. no C02, no reg, no tap. Just buy install a hex bolt and a valve on the drafto, with the complimentary fitting to your home C02 supply and you're done. So, take it easy...

    yep, you're right. don't know why I didn't do this in the first place. chews like gravel and no maltiness! appreciate the feedback. by the look of the Scope I think I will only need to kiln it - it looks the same as my pale malt?
