100L 1V BIAB recirc build - The BREWT

mesh basket fits nicely, can't wait to give it a shot!
  2. ss mesh basket from cheekypeak

    ss mesh basket from cheekypeak

gap between inner and out pot is at least 20L when full and I think this is contributing to my low efficiency (60%) lets see if this gets some better efficiency.

temperature mash - raise water and grains together to mash temp

Thanks MHB, very interesting. I've got a brauduino with 2 x camco 4500w ULD elements. I can reduce the power output of these, have the recirc directly around the elements and set the hold temp no worries. sounds like I can defo give this a shot.

temperature mash - raise water and grains together to mash temp

interesting points . my system has a grain basket with recirc into the basket was well as recircing wort around the 2 ULD elements. gloppy mash sounds like a precursor to a stick mash, I have rice hills that i could add to mitigate this. also yeah, the ultimate impact to flavour by the temp...

temperature mash - raise water and grains together to mash temp

it hadn't occurred to me seriously about a temperature mash until I read this in the brew wiki: Temperature Mash An alternative to the infusion mash is the temperature mash. Rather than adding a known quantity of hot water, the mixed water and grains are simply raised to the target mashing...

100L 1V BIAB recirc build - The BREWT

good to know, will grab on of the kegland PH meters when they're back in stock. by sparge I assume you mean lifting basket, using circa 78c water. Is this more efficient than just mashing out? what are the enzymes you use - this is the only one I could find with my quick search...

100L 1V BIAB recirc build - The BREWT

getting pretty poor efficiency (~60%) - even with finer milling and I think it's due to the large gap between the inner and outer pot - probably about 20L of quite stagnant water that never gets passed through the grainbed properly. The 2nd return port near the base doesn't move this water...

pressure fermenting 20L batches in 55L fermzilla - any concerns?

got a buddy who wants to get into home brewing and has lots of bbqs at his place etc. Really wants to experiment with brewing, so will start with small batches but will want to brew slightly larger quite soon. Any issues doing 20L pressure fermenting on a 50L fermzilla? I'm assuming the...

    3500w element question

wow, that's a good price. having a removable element for cleaning is great, and makes rinsing the pot easier as it's another way for gunk to leave the pot. I went the silver soldering tri clover approach from brewhardware.com but the weldless option is so much simpler, and now at a good local...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

just noticed you have QD flow restrictors, nice! https://www.kegland.com.au/flow-control-ball-lock-disconnect-flow-restrictor.html this with a pluto gun will reduce the err....length of the keg (when placed on it's side) - so less depth required in the fridge. QD flow restrictor w/pluto gun...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Hi Kegland, I'm looking to fit out a mate with an 8L mini keg, that will lie on it's side in the fridge, with the top/opening of the keg facing towards the fridge door with a flow control tap on it - so I can charge up the keg and get more out of it before my buddy has to attach a mini c02 reg...
