Low efficiency-should I sparge with more water?

what efficiency do you have it set to ? I'm semi new. have done 14 BIAB AG batches in the last year after 4 or 5 years of kits . I get 75% efficiency in the kettle ending setting .I see all these recipes where people use 80% or 85% brew house efficiency into the fermenter and wonder if...

    Double IPA (BIAB)

you gonna hit 1080 with 4.5kg of fermentables at 19l ? haven't punched the numbers but seems super light to me edit - punched it in and got 1069 at 19 l so not too far off . more needed though. Mash 1.5kg of Maris otter and you'll get there

    Two Hearted IPA - Beersmith

I actually have this one on my to brew list . but yeah, my 22 liters of IPA I have fermenting at the moment is copping 125g of centennial dry hop Saturday on top of the 125g of hops through the boil, most added late . you can go bigger

    Missed og. Mini mash?

If I'm a few points short and want to make it up I just use a little dextrose personally. I'm not bound by purity laws. I have used flaked oats in my last couple AG beers and have had really good numbers and good flavours when they are in the mix. I'm a fan

All Grain - is it substantially better beer?

it funny I was thinking about this thread the other day . after my first 14 AG batches in a row I just did my first kit beer in 9 months . have a new baby and had a tin sitting in the cupboard for a year ,so figured Id just chuck it on with what I had . coopers bootmaker tin + tin liquid...

Some advice needed for a newbie

what was the grain kit. Is that like a tin of extract , a fresh wort kit or actual grain that you steep or mash ? your og 1056 seems pretty low for all those ingredients at 23l .if its 1014 I'd say it went pretty well
