Amount Of Bulk Priming Sugar For A Regular 23l Run

But during fermentation you will lose some CO2 from the fermenter, so even if you drop the temp to say 7 degrees, you will not end up with the same amount of CO2 within the beer as if you fermented at 7 degrees. Adam.

Amount Of Bulk Priming Sugar For A Regular 23l Run

Don't think I can clear it up "once and for all", but unless there is some sort of positive pressure involved after you cool the beer - hence forcing CO2 back into the beer, I would think this ^ is correct. Adam.

Amount Of Bulk Priming Sugar For A Regular 23l Run

For your first crack at bulk priming I would err on the side of slightly less priming sugar rather than more. Instead of 3 volumes of CO2 I would go for somewhere between 2 and 2.5 volumes CO2. Better to have slightly less carbonated beer than bottle bombs. Adam.

Amount Of Bulk Priming Sugar For A Regular 23l Run

I would have thought that highest temp was right. If your bottling temp is higher than your ferment temp, then what you are saying makes since, but if you cool you beer after fermenting it will not increase the amount of CO2 within the beer. Adam.

    Yeast Farming

Hi guys, Digging up a bit of an old post here. Just trying to get a clear idea on this yeast harvesting/farming thing. From what I can tell the top quote by QuantumBrewer would suggest that the aim is to keep the yeast slurry in the bottom of each jar/bottle, whereas L_Bomb seems to be...

    Carbonation Drops

I am a little confused. The above would appear to make sense if you have a fermentation fridge and have a consistent temperature so at no point does your beer heat up during fermentation. If you weren't using a fermentation fridge and and your beer varied between say 18 and 22 degrees during...

    Carbonation Drops

My understanding is that colder liquids will actually hold more CO2, so I would have thought that you CC'd beers would have more CO2 before you prime them and as a result would have expected more carbonation rather than less. Happy for someone to correct me on this. Adam.

    Best Home Brew Books?

Hey Guys, Fairly new to this home brew caper, only a few K+K and extract brews, giving a stovetop BIAB a crack in a few weeks. Loving AHB, hating the search function - f*cking useless!!! Anyway, wondering what home brew books people like/find useful/would recommend for a new brewer. This may...

    Home Brew And Gout

Mate, Makes no difference whether it is home brew beer or otherwise, it is simply the more you drink, the more likely you are to get gout!
