9 Litre Corny's 'cheapish?' And Mobile Setups

Ibrew has them, not cheap though: http://www.ibrew.com.au/collections/beer-kegging/products/9-litre-stainless-steel-keg

    Kegging question - t splitter

Your plan will work fine. For the t-split line: If you already have a carbed keg attached, simply remove the gas disconnect from it, attach your uncarbed keg. Wait a minute or so for the pressure to come up to that set on the regulator, then reattach your carbed keg. This way you will not get...

    Opinion on burner

It does depend a little on how big you are planning to go with your kettle. Most of the time, with a medium or high pressure reg, unless you are going >100L I personally think a 4 burner (and probably a 3 burner) is overkill. I used to have one of the more basic spiral burners (no longer...

    Perlick 545PC taps 'decaying'

I haven't had trouble with metal coming off when running beer through mine, but I did have trouble with flecks of metal coming off when I was using my 545PCs for soda water so started using one of my SS taps only for soda water.

    Where have they gone?

I guess when one of the members who posts constantly on the site is quite happy to relive the days of rampant racism and homophobia as the 'good old days' it is inclined to put off anyone joining, let alone those who know they are likely to be in the minority.

Castle Hill and NSW State Homebrewing Competition 2014

Hi guys, Just reviving an old thread. I am hoping to make some NSW comp entries this year and hoping to find out if Castle Hill will again be the NSW state comp and get a vague idea when beers will likely need to be entered. I know it seems ridiculously early given it all happened in August...

Jockey Box ? thinking of getting one

I don't find any dramas with excess foaming with hot kegs, but with my set up the beer is only borderline cold enough once poured if using a hot keg so I generally chill the kegged beer first and often have the kegs sitting in ice also. I think the general consensus for the CO2 bulbs is 1 per 9L...

Pitching US-05 yeast into 10L of wort

Personally I would just pitch the whole pack. Depending upon age of the pack etc, it is unlikely to be a significant over pitch, and this reduces the risk of any problems related to under pitching. Similarly it is impractical to keep an opened pack of dry yeast for any period of time. Adam.

    Soda Water?

I use perlick flow control taps for my beers, but found I preferred my soda water keg from a non flow control tap (perlick 525ss), it poured more easily and the carbonation was better. So I agree with Du99, and would go either a non flow control perlick, or a cheaper tap. Adam.

Where to get Bulk Ice? - Central Coast NSW

I use these a lot in Newcastle, and looks like there is one in Charmhaven. A lot cheaper than the usual servo/coles ice: http://www.da-ice.com.au/ Adam.

For Paris: Brewberry beer bar - 18 rue du Pot de Fer Female owner who speaks really good english. Good range of international beers, plenty of which are hard to come by in Australia. Bottle shop - La Cave a bulles - 45 Rue Quincampoix, near centre pompidou. Good international range, best bottle...

    SWMBO

HERMS unit not heating quick enough

I think he is simply talking about measuring the temp of his HLT (which contains his HERMS coil) rather than measuring the mash temp. Agillies, Getting a smaller HEX vessel is not absolutely necessary. If you did it would mean you should only have to heat a much smaller volume of water for...

    Newcastle - free bottle tree x 2

I have 2 orange bottle trees to give away if anyone wants them (located in Maryville). They have been in the shed for a while and have only been given a rudimentary rinse but they are in good working order. PM me if interested. Adam.

    $200 Aldi Smokers

For those in Newcastle there are 5 or 6 of these at the Cooks Hill Aldi for $129 each (not as good as 100 obviously but still not bad). I grabbed one today. I went to both hamilton and mayfield Aldi's but neither had any on the floor, didn't ask if they had out the back though.
