    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Yep, one of my favourite beers. Love their hop head red, and palate wrecker also. Great brewery. Like Peteru, I haven't been able to find their beers in Oz for a year or two.

Where oh where are the cubes?

The one linked is white rather than natural (which is the usual clear/opaque cube colour http://www.plasdene.com.au/shop-menu/industrial/plastic-7/cube/cube-pl-20ltr-441-nt-detail). These guys are where I got my last lot, minimum order of $100 and cubes are around 10 or 11bucks each.

    4th vessel independent HERMS

Just to add to this I do use the hermit coil. I just have it in a kettle from kmart with the lid ripped off. I run it with the hermit controller. Doesn't get much use now I have a braumeister but it always worked well.

    4th vessel independent HERMS

The herm-it from online brewing supplies. https://onlinebrewingsupplies.com/herm-it-r-coil Although the website is not particularly user friendly and doesn't seem to have the coils/controller on there at the moment. Should be some old threads around AHB with more detail on it. Nev from OBS...

First go at lagering need some advice please

Racking to a keg and putting it in your kegerator will work fine. There will still be enough yeast in suspension to offer the beneficial effects of lagering. It is would be beneficial to drop from fermentation (or d-rest) temp down to lagering temp slowly. MHB generally recommends dropping it by...

    Head retention trouble shooting

I think there is some chance you are degrading your head forming proteins with you 55 degree step, and maybe the hops in you pales/IPA are offsetting this. In the OP it also sounds like you are leaving lagers on the primary yeast cake longer? I always find the times where I am lazy and leave a...

    Aldi specials

Lived in old bar for 6 months and worked in Taree. I spent my entire youth in Dubbo, with an equivalent aboriginal population. This is the same old **** argument of I can't be racist because... Barl's - if the person giving you **** was Caucasian you wouldn't mention their race. Bribie -...

    Yeast is Rising

Just put something much bigger under the tap side so it is on more of a lean away from the tap. Then when you cold crash it should drop well below the tap level. Just discard the first bit out of the tap before bottling.

    My first yeast starter

Not sure about brewers friend program, but the website does have troester (braukaiser - stirplate) option: http://www.brewersfriend.com/yeast-pitch-rate-and-starter-calculator/ Home brew dad calculator is based from kai's findings also. It has an 'overbuild' option for harvesting as well...

    aliexpress beer taps

They look very similar to the ones my beer shop sell: http://www.mybeershop.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2&zenid=a25462a108cdb2b66431ab26b6eaf874 I purchased a few from my beer shop years ago, they were silver rather than gold coloured, and I have only ever used them on my portable...

    New Vs 2nd Hand Kegs

I have around 8 or 10 old ones and 6 or 8 new keg king ones. Now that most of the second hand ones are pushing $80 I would generally only buy new ones. The keg king ones have been great (I am aware that people have had various problems with other keg king products over time, I haven't really...

Im bad at this and I need help

Just to check - are you using a hydrometer or refractometer to check gravity? Refrac readings need to be changed to account for alcohol as it ferments. Adam.

    Braumeister - temperature sensor problem

I was having the same issue with the probe constantly reading 102 degrees. I did some of the above pulling it out and cleaning it etc. and managed to scrape through a brew with it intermittently reading the actual temp and jumping to 102 and back again. Bloody frustrating. I bought a new probe...
