Hi yob, could you put some citra aside for me so I can add some mosaic and simcoe when it is split tonight?

Saison season is here. What's your best recipe?

No need to cold crash! Nothing wrong with a cloudy saison :)

    Taps

I managed to get mine comparatively cheap as I had a mate going to the U.S. For work who picked them up for me and that was after I had contacted perlick directly to ask if they had a SS flow control tap in the pipeline and they said no. I was a bit annoyed when they brought one out about 6...

    Taps

One of the joys of flow control is that the start of the pour can be as slow as you want, once the beer is flowing properly you can ramp it up to a normal speed and if they are getting a decent work out they stay cold. Having taps is great fun and good for parties. Foam doesn't need t be a...

    Taps

Flow control is handy as you don't need to be as precise when balancing your system and can slow it right down for the first pour to minimize foaming. Ultimately good taps will last for a very long time so if you can afford it upon the get some really good ones and you will never be inclined...

Any good? KEG MASTER - GRAND DELUXE GD185

Recently got one of these but haven't managed to set it up as a keg fridge yet. I wanted to have 3-4 taps on downstairs and fridge space as well and it seemed a better option than 2 fridges. It does cycle a bit but I think once I have 4 kegs in there. I have the 2 door version so I would...

NSW 2016 xmas case swap - tasting and recipes

Number 2 ESB. Very clear, carb is low and to style. There's a nice assertive bitterness that balances the malt well. Hop flavour and aroma are low but present. Can't pick them out with my rubbish nose! Nice beer, cheers!

Saison season is here. What's your best recipe?

I was tossing up between a hefe or a saison this weekend but now I am thinking if I make a wheaty wort I can ferment half with a saison yeast and the other half with a hefe yeast and have he best of both worlds!

Saison season is here. What's your best recipe?

I should also add that all of my lighter beers get 2-3% acidulated malt which seems to help with efficiency. There's other ways to do it but that works for me.

Saison season is here. What's your best recipe?

The trick with a good saison is to let the malt and hops form a background for the yeast to shine. I normally use mainly pils with some wheat. Occasionally a bit of Munich for colour. I've used hallertau, styrian goldings and a few others with good success with IBUs light and a small 15 minute...

Keg liquid dip tube losing siphon

I've had a keg that did this but it would always start blowing foam after pouring some beers that were fine. Turned out there was a small hole in the beer dip tube that was the culprit but that was fairly evident from a visual inspection.

I'm always keen for another entry. Drclaybro is another IBU brewer so I'm sure someone can help him out with transport of beers.

    Double BIAB or 3v Systems

70L pot will give you 40L into cubes or fermenter fairly comfortably. That's what I use for my biab setup and it works well. If you start there you can get brewing with a minimal amount of fuss and if you decide you want to go 3V then you can buy a few more pots. I have a craftbrewer pot...

    Kegging Setups

I have a similar one that I have been trying to get working but last time I tried was still having some issues with it sealing. I would only use it to fill off another keg and take to a party etc so wouldn't be too worried about it being aluminum.

I keep getting lower than expected original gravity.

There's a few things that could contribute so it's best to be methodical about it and only change one thing at a time. The first thing I would check is measurement. How are you measuring your gravity and is this accurate? It might sound dumb but sometimes the simplest solution is the right...

    NSW State Comp 2016

In the specialty section I got my certificate and rosette about a week ago and prize from shenanigans brewing a couple of weeks before that. The beers were great and are long gone but the t-shirt is still on high rotation.
