My first few batches i did then after hearing Kee say not to worry about it and to blast it out with water (i use a hose) which has worked great for me to date. I do try and blast the cleaner > clean water > sanitizer into the seal as much as possible afterwards also.

Yep that's what happens if you tighten them too much and you're spot on with the plastic carb caps, they seal well and i haven't had any issues yet

I've had it leak from the carb caps (the stainless ones) which i found out after over tightening them it seems, there is a sweet spot with them. Their new plastic carb caps don't have a rubber grommet/seal and rely on the plastic carb cap itself doing all the sealing work, so far so good! I...

Do yours also have this defect for want of a better word? If so have you heard of it being the catalyst for eventual failure

I decided to opt for Ubidots as you can add a custom Graph with a range of outputs and you also get to see the Voltage, WiFi strength, tilt angle and Plato along with the Temperature and Gravity (after inputting a formula) in your group of variables whereas the GF site only provides the Gravity...

You can add WiFi functionality to them now... You just need a Rasberry pi thingy!

I was thinking more of the BrewPi fermentation controller which allows you to control the temp of your fermentation fridge over WiFi/remotely (cold crash while your on holidays!!!) and also has support for the iSpindel and nice little graphs to track progress but i believe it also has mash...

Terrific, i might just hold of making the BrewPi for now then as it sounds like the fridge can do what the BrewPi can do???... Definitely agree on the Tilt, a great product and ready to go out of the box but is overpriced and an extra module is required if you want to use it over WiFi as well...

It would be great to see support for the iSpindel, Tilt Hydrometers incorporated into the design...
