    Thanks Doug

Just a big shout out to Doug (Dougiechap) who answered my SOS and helped me build the hopper on my new Barley Crusher. Top Guy and I appreciate the help. Also I'll say Hi to Goat whom I had a good chat to at my work on the weekend about AG brewing. I'll be missing this West Coast Brewers...

    Barley Crusher Hopper Assembly

Hi I just bought a barley crusher from TWOC but I'm not sure how to assemble the hopper. It comes with some pin like things that I think may be rivets but as I have never seen let alone used a rivet I have NFI of what to do. Do I need a special tool? It would have been simpler coming with some...

    The New Brewstand

This stand is very similar to the one that I want built (except I'll be using metal from pallate racking legs) What are the actual dimensions of this frame? Cheers

    Brewstand Dimensions

Hi does anyone have dimensions or a diagram of a brewstand? I have finally got some metal (Pallet racking frame) and my mate is going to weld it up for me. I was going to go single tier but I notice some people have 2 tier. Which is better? I have a March pump and all the plumbing ready to go...

    Connecting Keg To Disconnect

My kegs are ball lock from TWOC and the gas is already connected. Just liquid to connect. as an aside. When designing the kegs it would have been nice to make the gas and liquid clearer. I've been meaning to mark which is which but never get around to it! Cheers guys

    Connecting Keg To Disconnect

Hi Guys I have a keg of beer that i was about to get stuck into butcouldn't get the liquid dis-connect to connect to the keg. The keg is already gassed and I am thinking that the keg pressure may be the thing stopping the connection from occuring. Is there any way to get in connected other than...

What Size Esky For Mash Tun?

I've seen cheap Eskies on e-bay, with good volume too. Not sure if they are the right grade of plastic though, I think they are.

    Tasters @ Micro's

From my perspective (I sell over 200 different beers at the retail outlet that I work at and have easily stocked over 300 over the last 12 months) there are enough consumers out there looking for quality beer to try, though the majority are happy with bland watery brews. Ferals' White Beer has a...

    Plumbing For Herms

Just ordered 3m of silicon hose of G&G online. I spoke to a hose wholesaler over here who said I'd have to buy 6m length that would come from over east anyway!

    Plumbing For Herms

Where can I get food grade hose that can handle temps in Perth? Bunnings had a lot of hoses but the food grade stuff looked like it may melt under heat. The hose suppliers in the Yellow pages seem to be concerned with hydrolics or custom fittings. I've bought SS fittings and valves from...

    Water Filter Vs Reverse Osmosis

Another question for the forum to consider, I've almost committed to buying a water filter for my beer (and to drink) but just wish to pose the question of whether I should consider a reverse osmosis system. I know major breweries like using this system and want to know are there any other...

    Sweet Beer

Ross, the Volume was 50L, my idea was that seeing as I was unable to cool the wort quickly enough to avoid a high risk of infection, I 'watered down' the wort. i.e. I added extra water and thus a Cooper cervesa (and also a brew enhanser 2 that I forgot previously). Cheers

    Sweet Beer

Cheers guys for the advise. I've pitched some more yeast to see what happens. It was a partial/hybrid mash using Flaked Maise, Rice Hulls and Pale malt (4kg) of grain and a Coopers mexican cervesa kit. OG was 1.032.

    Sweet Beer

Hi all, I've had my beer in fermenter for 2 weeks. The beer finished with a gravity of 1.020, way too high and the beer is sweet and hard for me to stomach. Should I go ahead and keg and bottle this brew? I know some people who may like the sweetness and the beer is quite light in alcohol. Will...

    Using The Mashmaster Plate Chiller

I bought one of these and am thinking as to how i should set this up. I was going to gravity feed from the boiler and use a garden hose to provide the cooling water. I own a cold plate like the one used to cool beer from hire kegs and was thinking of using this to cool the tap water (in...

    Mash Tun Insulation

Im going to use a 50l SS vessel for a mash tub and would like some ideas as to the best way to insulate this? I also saw one members photos whose tun had a nice wooden jacket, I would like this option down the track, any ideas as to make this work? ps my system is modelled on the HERMS systems...
