    Whirlpool and flameout hop question

Many ways to skin a cat mate , just to come up with a process that suits your taste . I lower my temp to 70 degrees and then add whirlpool hops and leave for 30 minutes . Any other hop additions beforehand I have in a hopsock . While I am lowering temp I remove hop sock , once at desired temp...

    Fermenting Under Pressure

Haven't even used mine yet and Im alreay thinking of a mod. A conical set up to dump trub and capture yeast would be awesome . Something simular to blichmann's cornical but I wouldn't be interested in turning it into a keg .

Dedicated Grainfather Guide, Problems and Solutions Thread

I'm getting a consistent 80% efficiency last 5 or 6 brews . All I have done is add between 1.5 to 2 litres more to the mash for a 21 litre batch , great bit of kit. I also had issues with grain in the boil I tried using a BIAB for a couple of brews , more pain than its worth for me ended up with...

Best temperatures for brewing kit beers

temp control I would look at something like 18 presuming your using an ale yeast . If your going temp control in a fridge don't forget a fan to circulate . Pretty much the fan can also act as a heater if needed aswell

    Fermenting Under Pressure

Might try this approach I have two 26 litte kegmenters and will make roughly 21 litre batches so should be able to get the hops in without it being a gusher if I keep pressure to between 10 to 15 psi. Are you letting your hops in the stocking sink to the bottom or suspending with something like...

    First no chill SMaSh

It's an experimental brew but had great success with this using galaxy and pilsner malt (the recipe idea was given to me by a brewer here in Tassie) So decided to try simular with Amarillo . It's a good introductory drink for people who don't normally drink craft beer Not sure how it will go...

    First no chill SMaSh

I have been doing simular except I lower mine to 70 and try and keep at that temp with my grainfather then steep for 20 and then transfer with counter flow chiller that takes about 10 minutes . Going to experiment with slightly higher temps for different hops but 70 worked a treat for galaxy ...
