    Pumps fcked

It could be the orientation. Can you post a picture? I’m not 100% sure but I think the outlet is supposed to be above the inlet when the pump is vertical. When the pump is horizontal it doesn’t matter but vertical you may need to turn the head till the outlet is uppermost. I know it will work...

no chill into white plastic fermenter?

Forgot to ask, what UK home brewing books do you have from the 1950's? All the ones I have seen are 1963 or after. I know there was a lot of illegal home brewing prior to 63 but haven’t seen books published about it back then.

no chill into white plastic fermenter?

Was that in Australia? Do you recall around what year it was?

no chill into white plastic fermenter?

I have never seen any evidence that you or anyone posted that proves or suggests that 3V systems pre date 1V. Or that BIAB as we know it was in response to systems like Braumeisters. Was there perhaps a sixties Braumeister that I’m not aware existed? It only you that is disagreeing with me...

no chill into white plastic fermenter?

We have had this conversation several times before Mark and still seem to be going around in circles. As I have explained before BIAB as you know it was known and used way before Braumeisters at least outside Australia. I find it hard to believe that it was unheard of in AU though perhaps just...

no chill into white plastic fermenter?

No chill, especially in the fermenter has been around as long as brewing and was the norm in home brewing before chillers became easily available. No chill in a sealed container like a cube has more recently become popular and has the advantage keeping air out and the wort sterile. Most home...

    Contract Brewing in Melbourne?

Is there any particular reason why you would need it brewed in or around Melbourne? Just ease of collection or transportation perhaps? If you can’t find anything local perhaps try looking farther afield for brewing as transportation cost may still be cheaper overall.

    Inkbird thermometer

As above you may be able re solder the wire if it is out of warranty.

    Inkbird thermometer

You told me that in another thread so I took my old one apart and sure enough a wire from the probe had broken away from the solder. When I held the wire back in place the display worked fine again. So the wire could be soldered back in place easily enough, I didn’t bother as I couldn’t find my...

    Inkbird thermometer

Which Inkbird thermometer do you have? I bought two when they were on offer here. Both stopped working after a few months use giving a LLL.L display. Apparently it was a loose wire fault. Inkbird replaced the two faulty ones with this one (I had requested that as it was the same value as the...

Carbing/Conditioning in a Cube before keg

It just doesn’t happen mate. Time has shown that cubes are perfectly safe to use for fermenters, casks and no chill. No explosions and the sky has never fallen down. I have only ever had one cube fail in use as a cask and it just stretched until a pin hole appeared and squirted beer out the...

How many fermentors do you use?

Forgot to say. You could but you shouldn’t need an air lock. You can either release the pressure if any after a couple days or just tighten the lid enough that it just seals but leaks as a bit of pressure builds up.

    Edit: oops, sorry wrong thread.

How many fermentors do you use?

They have been used by many home brewers for many years for fermenting, racking and serving from with no problems. They are food grade HDPE same as fermenters. Here is an old thread where they were used for racking and serving Carbing/Conditioning in a Cube before keg The practice was pretty...

How many fermentors do you use?

You assumed correctly but OP was planning on using fermenters for secondary. I was pointing out that cubes with less headspace would be a better option. Though not as good as glass or stainless steel they are still pretty good.

How many fermentors do you use?

If this is your only reason you would be better off using cubes or Jerry cans like these. Less head space is better for secondary and they tend to seal better, also easier to store or take up less space in a fridge. They usually hold more than the stated capacity so a 20L cube will actually hold...

Advice on Mega Jet cooker and 50L stainless pot

What pot diameter will yours hold? In the detailed description of the one linked above it says “Can hold aluminium or cast iron pots and pans up to 220mm diameter” That may be a misprint though?

Advice on Mega Jet cooker and 50L stainless pot

I don’t own one so have very little experience, only seen and helped brew with them and found them compact and easy to use. I did start off with a very simple electric single vessel biab but have used gas for many years now. Lots of folk on here use the Brewzilla or Guten, some with both and...

Advice on Mega Jet cooker and 50L stainless pot

Used similar setups but I haven’t used the Digiboil. If you budget can stretch to it single vessel breweries like https://www.keg-king.com.au/guten-40ltr-micro-brewery.html or BrewZilla 35L - Gen.3.1.1 - EXTENDED 3 YEAR WARRANTY seem to be all the rage at the moment.

Advice on Mega Jet cooker and 50L stainless pot

If you click on the detailed description of the burner it says it can hold pots and pans up to 220mm diameter but click on the specifications of the pot and that’s 400mm diameter so probably not the safest setup. Have you had a look at https://www.keg-king.com.au/or Home Brew Supplies | Beer...
