    Immersion Chiller from Kegland

It would work ok. Lots of people have and still do use similar immersion chillers, often just DIY units made from a coil of copper pipe. These were more common before counter flow coils and plate chillers were easily available. For not much more you could get a counter flow from the same...

    Show us ya HOPS!!!

I use the Inkbird from my fermenting fridge for that. Have neglected my hops this year though so won’t get much of a crop.

    Rookie Wannabe

I rarely need use powered heat, maybe 2-4 weeks in the winter. When I do I run the power cord near the bottom of the fridge and the seal molds around it.

    Rookie Wannabe

Remember that the heat generated from fermentation will raise the internal temp of your fermenter and fridge so if its 17c now it will probably be within 19-25 without a heater.

I doubt you need a heat belt at the moment what is ambient temp in your brewery or brew fridge? I prefer a reptile heat lamp in the fridge if temps really drop but most of the time and as MHB often points out a small fan will act as a small heater in a fridge and also keeps a more even temp...

    Flavour and Aroma disappear

If you re read my post I said OP did not mention a Corny keg. It could be a commercial keg and coupler, or it could be a HDPE homebrew keg. OP said, “I have a keg of Stone and Wood clone on tap for about 3 weeks. Suddenly the aroma has completely disappeared, where before it was quite strong”...

    Flavour and Aroma disappear

You are really going off on a tangent here Mark, no more xmas beers for that man! OP hasn’t mentioned corny kegs (or if has perhaps it is me that needs to take a beer break?) Op has mentioned “The aroma mainly came from a large dry hop of galaxy at day 5 in the fermentation”. So unless the...

    Flavour and Aroma disappear

Not even close I’m afraid, the biggest variable will be the container itself. For instance a wooden cask will be more permeable than a stainless steel one. The seals will be negligible in comparison. I think the reason the aroma has disappeared is not really in question any longer, everyone...

    Flavour and Aroma disappear

If you re read the post it was explained “Oxygen can pass through silicone fairly fast and fairly easily and even when the keg is under pressure”. Gasses don’t behave as you would expect and can pass from a lower to higher pressure apparently.

    Flavour and Aroma disappear

You can always add more dry hops to the keg. Dry hopping was traditionally done in the cask, not so much in the fermenter. Just pop the lid off your keg and add more hops, give it a day or two and you’ll have your hop aroma back again. Only issue with keg hopping is the dip tube and/or beer...

Blowoff tube connector for 12mm hole

Cutting the bottom end off could help I suppose but I have never needed to. I still have the domed tip with a tiny hole.

Blowoff tube connector for 12mm hole

Very strange, the outlet will be wider so shouldn’t be too small. If your airlock wasn’t getting blocked in the first place cutting the top off and replacing it with a tube shouldn’t cause it to block up. It should make it less likely to block up as the tube is wider and less restrictive than...

Blowoff tube connector for 12mm hole

Leave the rubber grommet in place and cut 3cm of the bottom end of your air lock, then extend that with a length of pvc or silicone tube to make a blow off.

    Keg stops pouring after sitting

What temperature do you have your fridge set at? Could it be ice in the coupler or line that breaks up or melts when you take the coupler apart and put it back together again?

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Might be worth while looking on Hong Kong ebay, they are very cheap in HK. Just a simple cheap commercial burner, not called Rambos there though. There is an English HK ebay.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I have been using one like he recommends since about 1995. I bought it in Hong Kong and it was my outdoor wok burner when I lived there. I also used it for a few years in the UK as an outdoor wok burner. For the past 15 years it has been my main brewery burner here in Australia and lived...

    What Is An IPA Beer?

Mark this still isn’t correct, you have it the wrong way around. Firstly it IS the spiles that come in hard and soft. The SOFT spiles are usually fitted first for a couple of days, not the hard spiles the hard spiles do not let pressure in or out. A hard spile is often used to hammer into and...
