8 tap and 6 tap fonts for sale

Mine was $70 but I think they are $85 now. NZ brewer posted a picture some time ago. I'd guess you can still see it.

    All in one kit?

Well darn sarf we don't seem to get those good deals I think the Coopers were $8 and the homebrand $6 I took all the Coopers and some discounted BE2 and Dextrose. I left the homebrand for someone else to take a punt on. I tried 4 different Woolies but only 1 had any on the shelf sadly.

    Sanitisation & Sterilisation

I actually had something similar happen once I don't know how the grungy bottle got mixed in but a big fountain spewed out on opening. Still tasted ok though.

8 tap and 6 tap fonts for sale

No they are 6 litre with a standard cornie lid - pretty nice little units. I've got my Old Speckled Hen style brew (what's left of it) sitting in one ageing for a week or 2. I'd post a pic but it has a logo on it that's not welcome here, so better not. If you look around the media I'm sure...

    All in one kit?

Yep I used to use them long time ago. Far better for my taste than a Coopers can and malt extract. I'll be back to Coopers cans and some LDME and Dextrose though for the next 3 brews - just no time to do an all grain right now. And they were only $8 a pop from Woolies.

    Kegging Setups

Arrgghh! no! C3PO looks like this: It kind of looks like R2D2 Hence the name. Hasn't everyone seen those movies hundreds of times like me? No? Oh! I want to make one that looks like this:

    EOI Oxygen scavenging caps/crown seals

If I get my full quota . then sure. Although I'm in the Eastern suburbs so you might need to make a special trip or meet up on a Saturday at G&G :)

    Black pepper, coriander and ginger.

?? Did you use as much pepper as the last brew you did? I was surprised that much pepper wasn't overpowering. I didn't reply as I've never done it myself.

    what fermenters to use?

You still looking at 50l or thinking of going smaller? The Fermentasaurus seem popular but I'm always worried about scratching when cleaning etc. The 30l kegmenters are a decent option as lighter full or empty. I just use cornie keg fermenters now though as I have plenty of them and I can get a...

    Food Gardening

Well in contrast to WEAL's lovely food garden, here's what's left of my Rowville veg areas. I moved 2 raised beds made of hardwood sleepers like the big green shed sells and built a new one at the new place. The railway sleeper beds I just couldn't be bothered moving again as they are so damned...

    Tin allergy

The amount of leeched BPA from the can of sugars for beer would be miniscule. Do you drink bottled water? BPA Eat tinned tomatoes and other foods? BPA (I mentioned tomatoes as the BPA is released more in acidic products) Here's a link re possible effects of BPA...

MashMaster fluted mill and HD drill complete setup Brisbane

I don't need a mill but if it was in Melbourne and I hadn't spent all my money on fixing and moving house I'd buy it for sure.

Couple of hot days (38c) 5 days into fermentation - ruined?

The yeast addition was really only for if the gravity was high and/or you were bottle carbonating. If you're kegging you're ready to go :)

    GUTEN

Like WEAL said unless it's massive black run-dry type scorching in which case your wort might get a nasty bitter taste. If it tastes alright - no foul.

    Length of mash

I usually do 22l with about 5Kg of grain in the Guten Info here suggests ratios of up to 7:1 are fine but too thick a mash may cause problems. https://aussiehomebrewer.com/threads/mash-thickness-and-efficiency.79839/

Wort double the darkness expected ?

Campden tablets are just sodium or potassium metabisulphate aren't they? Doubt if that would affect colour. I've used potassium metebisulphate before with no noticed change in colour. How much hops did you have in that spider? I've used a fine and coarse mesh one and the fine struggles with a...

Couple of hot days (38c) 5 days into fermentation - ruined?

If you were using Nottingham, chances are most of the ferment was done before the heat rise. Have you done gravity checks and tasted the beer? It will most likely be fine although maybe a bit more estery than you were aiming for. My advice is always push on and you never know it might clear up...

    Is my hops dead?

Hard to tell, have you been repotting them into larger pots each year? You really need to do that. They could have dried out or got too wet and then they can rot. I'd add a bit of Seasol or Charlie carp to all your hops and hope that Cascade pops it's head up

    Cask and Hand-pump

Like WEAL says about 31 l if you are not sparging. I sparge but like a "wet" mash ie high ratio of water. I'd start with 22 litres (which on my unit is exactly at the 20l mark) Then sparge with the balance, so 9 ish litres (I do keg size batches so only use about 7 litres)
