    New to brewing beer

Really? Never tried it in anything but porter or IPA so don't know how it would go in lower ABV brews. It's supposed to give a pretty neutral result so should be fine. I might just try it on a pale ale myself.

    New to brewing beer

US05 or BRY97 would work well, although I guess the WLP009 would do a great job too if you can get it.

    GUTEN

Agree totally. I have had some scorch marks on the base, but easily cleaned off. Never had any elsewhere or heat discoloration. I soaked everything in PBW heated it to 60C and recirculated for a while before use. Then filled with water, heated and recirculated. Done quite a few brews and all is...

    Selling Homebrew Legally

Yep been there done that (Not in brewing) I made almost double the money I did working for someone else but was spending 16hrs a day EVERY day to do it! 8 hrs a day 5 a week doing the work and the rest - accounts, marketing, pr etc. etc. Getting a couple of reasonable contractors to help grew...

    GUTEN

Sounds interesting, I'll head down there with my tape measure when I get a chance to see if it will fit in my ferment fridge.

    EOI Oxygen scavenging caps/crown seals

Back in VIC now, glad to see most of my poor plants survived not being watered. Dammit now I have to research the hop flavour stripping due to OS caps :) Was planning on using a few for beers that need to be stored for long periods in bottle and the odd competition beer if I ever pull my finger...

    FWK - Favourites

I have in the past tried a few of the Artisan Ale FWK's and have been happy with them. The only All Inn I tried was the Omitted Fortune and didn't think it was up to par, but could have been a fault in the fermenting process.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

@TheBeerBaron Agree with you - my only affiliation is I purchase stuff from them and also KK, Oh plus I won some universal cornie posts and a hat :) But they do seem to be trying to address issues so good on them. Also agree about ingredients. I buy from Grain and Grape (good excuse to pop...

    EOI Oxygen scavenging caps/crown seals

As @n87 said there are a couple near the start of the thread. If you want some I've ordered more than I need as I mostly keg, just wanted to make sure the bb happened :) Give me a PM if you do, but I probably will not be able to get them to you until early Jan.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Yes looks like they've already fixed the AA listings - before it was a range rather than a value. Can't say they are not trying to address issues.

Storing in kegs - off the gas

It'll stay carbed and probably reasonably cool if the doors never opened. Of course the answer I should give is it will store better at the correct cooler temperature but I've got 2 kegs sitting in the office as I'm short of fridge space and I know they'll taste just fine :)

    Coopers English Bitter

In that case if you're going straight into the fermenter use cooler water just to wash that stuff out :)

    Coopers English Bitter

Well the oats in the bag will work but sparging those oats is probbly not needed. Won't hurt though.

    Coopers English Bitter

Yep chuck it in the mash - I edited my post after your reply. Sparging? weren't you doing a kit and bit? Just mash it boil then dump into the rest of your ingredients through a sieve.

    Coopers English Bitter

Well, always better to mash with some malt all the books say so, but so long as you are using rolled oats and mash them at 66 to 70 for say 30 mins then bring to the boil for a minute or 2 it will work out fine. But why not add some malt - it's really cheap only a couple of bucks. Base malt -...

8 tap and 6 tap fonts for sale

Don't you have to buy a tapping head for the mini kegs like you have? This is all in one with a standard cornie cap - so not really pricey. Still they all work, I just like the big opening so I can see it's clean. Anyway, let's end the thread hijack.
