Cheers for the info. I looked at those jars today and nearly brought one so I’m glad I didn’t. I wonder if those sistema containers would be leak proof. The lid clamps down on them nice and tight. They sell a square one for pasta etc in Woolies that’s around 2 litres.

Bloody hell its so hard trying to find a decent container. I went to 5 $2 shops today, Woolies and Bunnings. Serached online and the Decor flask like you have is $43 on ebay or $13 with $18 for postage somewhere else. I looked at glass jars with lids but they didnt look like they would seal...

    CraftBeerPi not starting on RPi

This is an ongoing fault with CBPi V3. Wipe your SD card and start again but when it asks you if you want to install one wire support say no. Dont worry it will still be able to use one wire support. The CBpi facebook group has a lot of info about it. Also try this once youve installed it...

Cheers for the pics. I was actually at Bunnings earlier and brought this below. I could have used a smaller 3/4 elbow but wanted to extend it out a bit so I can screw it on without fouling with the legs of the fermenter. I was just going to cut the riser to the correct size. So how well does it...

What are you brewing - 2019?

I stopped for almost 2 years as it was a chore getting out my 3V system, setting up the herms and all the hoses pumps and leads etc. Now I have a Guten and its so much easier.

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

My Ispindel seemed to work fine for the first 2-3 brews I did. But Ive noticed lately that its always way out. I performed a guided calibration with sugar and water when I first started using it. And I always calibrate it at 90 degrees at the start of each brew and check it by lying it vertical...

Using one CO2 bottle, kegging and transfers

I use a push in duotight one way valve on a short piece of gas line coming from my regulator hose. And another one on some hose that connects to my Chronical. I push the collar in and pull the tube out to use the bottle on the fermenter and put it back when finished.

    Yeast starters and equipment

Yeah I see your point. My problem is that Ive probably recently brought too much yeast and dont want to waste it and possibly wont use it all by 3 months after manufacture date. Time for an experiment.

    Yeast starters and equipment

So when you get around to using the other vials how old can your yeast be? Ive got some yeast thats out of date so might make a starter and pitch, see if it fires up then maybe do the same thing to the slurry in 6 months time. Cheers

Ss Brewtech "Chronical" 7 Gallon Conical Fermenter

".....and I was struggling to pay attention at work and started designing brew **** in my head instead"" Lol..Sounds familiar.. So better to use a ball valve at 1.5" then instead of butterfly valve?
