2017 Christmas Case Swap at pcqypcqy's - Stanthorpe SEQ 2nd Decemb

Added a tab for the side swaps - apologies for leaving this off. I've tried to copy the info across, but I'll let you guys sort that one out yourselves as it'll get messy.

    Australian Amateur Brewing Championship

This has gotten quite feisty. My two cents prior to unwatching this thead. As an entrant who wasn't involved in running the comp itself, yes, I wish I'd gotten a bit more direct feedback on my beer. However, as many have pointed out, 40 beers to be judged, it's hard work on the day, there's...

Yep, cash on the day. Please put it all in the spreadsheet if you can Bribie G. Just click on the link and you should be able to type it all in. Let me know if you don't have write access.

Try again now. If it's not in a spreadsheet, it never happened.

2017 Christmas Case Swap at pcqypcqy's - Stanthorpe SEQ 2nd Decemb

OK all, the quoting has gotten a little hectic so I've transferred this over to a shared spreadsheet to keep track of everything. Link is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QJCZhtkNq3HbZ1jkbNsq_U_51SMveMK-y19n7M4EutI/edit?usp=sharing I'm going to be quite ruthless in that if you...

    seized keg king silver pump

Not yet, but the bearing is fine. Once I separate out the rolling parts from the housing, it spins very freely. I'll try to get a happy snap of it if I ever get in there.

    seized keg king silver pump

Like a dog with a bone, I'll keep gnawing at it until I break it or fix it. I'm learning in the process as well, so it's enjoyable (until that capacitor zaps me probably).

    seized keg king silver pump

So the saga continues. I discovered a new piece that can be removed, which is the rear part of the housing. When I took a look inside, it's rusted to all hell, so I really must have dribbled something good in there on the first use. Surprised it didn't short to be honest. Anyway, tried...

    2018 Hop Plantations

I took a look at mine today during lunch and noticed they're getting better at holding on now that they're getting proper water.

Get into O2 guys, if you're serious about nicer beer

Yep, understood. My point is that I can see this working for a hard plumbed system like in a brewery, but for a counterflow chiller in a home brew set up, having an additional 6m of coil/pipe on the cold side increases build costs and infection risks. The cost of gas being much cheaper than...

Get into O2 guys, if you're serious about nicer beer

I take it that this length needs to be after the stone? If you tried injecting on the hot side, this would reduce the efficiency again I take it.

Get into O2 guys, if you're serious about nicer beer

Has anyone done an in-line O2 set up with a counter flow or plate chiller on a homebrew scale? Does this address the efficieny issues noted by LC and a few others, i.e. that a decent portion of the oxygen introduced via a stone can simply be lost to the atmosphere?

    seized keg king silver pump

This came good and lasted for a brew. Seized again right at the end of the sparge, so was quite lucky. I will pull apart and apply some proper grease and see if that fixes it.

    2018 Hop Plantations

Mine shot up quick, but have stalled short of a metre. These are all first year's. I've put it down to lack of water, so I've finally set up my drip irrigation and am using the bath water through this system. Hopefully they'll come good. I'm not expecting many flowersin the first year, but I...

No need Roger, thanks. We'll have lights, and plenty of gas for cooking.

2017 Christmas Case Swap at pcqypcqy's - Stanthorpe SEQ 2nd Decemb

I wouldn't count on electricity, just a small solar system and a cheap 1000w inverter. Rice will be straight forward on gas in a pot though. We're happy to organise most of the food for dinner, it's fairly straight forward. Yours might be good as an entree as you say for mid /late arvo.
