QldKev's New Biab With Internal Rims

Being the same crush as the 3V, I'm thinking it may not be the cause. This is my crush, 0.9mm using a mm2 (monster mill)

QldKev's New Biab With Internal Rims

I wonder if the drainage issue could be from a finer crush? What crush are you using / any pics?

    Suggestions. No hops beer.

I'd try some isohops/hop oil for it. A drop in the glass

    Lets talk roller mills

I'm running a mm2 at 0.9mm, pretty happy with the crush. Used the same setting in my BIAB days, now kept it the same for both my 1V and 3V systems. A little bit coarser would be ok, but I don't mind a few ripped husks. Here's my crush

    Lets talk roller mills

Maybe buy a set of feeler gauges, like these to make setting up the gap easier Also post a pic of the crush, then we can give you some feedback.

    Keg King Elements

In my non professional opinion. The issue is not the core size, it is the lack of the ability to allow the heat to vent. That rubber/resin/silicone housing they use does not allow the heat to dispatch, hence it builds up and melts ****. The 5 star ones comes in an open air housing, which is...

Which of the new gen are these, the last of the white or the tapered black ones? I really was hoping they had it fixed by now.

    BeerSmith calculations

Going by the original figures it is def not a DP issue, he hit his pre-boil vols and eff. But he said he did hit his pre-boil eff%. Any diff in pre-boil Vs post-boil eff is an issue in volumes and not mash conversion eff%

    BeerSmith calculations

This doesn't make sense, Beersmith or any other brew software. You only boil off water and not sugar so it is directly proportional to the set values. What were the pre-boil vol, and post boil vol. (note post boil vol is not vol into fermenter, as that would allow kettle losses) edit: it...

    CO2 cylinders

I'm a fan of two of the smaller 2.6kg bottles. 2.6kg is good for over 20kegs, I avg less than a keg a week, so a 2.6kg is approx 6 months supply of CO2. I have 2 kegerators, with the second one most often being used just as a fridge. Either way, I have the second bottle running on the second...

At home I let them go nude swimming, but at work I use hop bags for all except the flame out pellet addition.

    Earthing kettle element

Hopefully, but in the real world not always. A lot of people do put seals on both sides of the pot to element contact areas, hence removing this contact path. If the element was off centre allowing the thread to touch the pot then that could work. When you have water in the pot that would create...

Dedicated Herms Guide, Problems And Solution Thread

Adr_0 that set of charts is awesome, really shows real world vs the theory. A couple of things I take from it. The longer coil hit the Coil T set point fastest, but the shorter coil was actually was slightly better in pushing the mash temp up. I guess that would be due to the increased flow...

Sounds awesome to me, even if you went anywhere from 7m up to 10m to be safe.
