Shorten the dip tube so that it is just above the bottom. You can also add a weight to the tube, the inter tap growler filler is.ideal. This stops the dip tube riding down the side and sucking up any crud still attached to the cone.

$100 for 25Kg of schooner malt is a bit expensive.

I would take 5 X 25KG bags of base malt depending on price.

Make sure the outside of the tube is in perfect condition, slightest scratch or scuff mark, and you are asking for a leak. Put a tiny amount of food grade silicon lube on the outside of the tube before pushing it into the fitting. I have been using these fittings with Eva tube with no problems.

After using the hop tube, how do you clean the chain? Each ball of the chain is hollow and will be full of what ever it was immersed in.

If buying from Cheeky Peak, look on their website, usually cheaper than their eBay store.
