Dry hopping during fermentation - krausen wont drop

I stand corrected, except that there would be net expansion when cooling even from 6 to near zero. Of course, bottlers would start much higher than 6 if they are carbing.

Dry hopping during fermentation - krausen wont drop

To clarify for varied readers, so long as you do not overcarbonate or freeze the beer, CO2 is not the problem. I've filled glass bottles to within one centimeter with no gushers or bombs, but you need to leave more if you cold condition below 4 C, because water expands with temps falling below...

    Mashing overnight

Along with others in various forums I've done a complete mash, mashed out and then boiled the next day. No problem. If you kept the mash at room temps long enough, you'd get undesirable souring. I've had no problems, but I kept the.container covered, set it outside on a cool (<10) night and...

    Extra beer

Look into minikegs, e.g., 5L. Some growlers take pressure; you'd need to prime those.

It's a bad time to be an incumbent in any country that holds real elections. Huge debts everywhere, the Ukraine war, supply problems.

    Persistent fermentor infections

In 13 years brewing I have never had an infected batch and have only occasionally disassembled a tap. Instead I soak them in iodophor in the dark and for days along with a dash of dispersant. The decision to disassemble is based on examination by eye (of plastic taps).

    Persistent fermentor infections

Percarb is good for cleaning, but the skinny on Starsan is that it is effective, but not across the full spectrum of threats, especially not against wild yeasts and molds. Most, but not all, brewers find Starsan alone is effective. You would kill troublesome microorganisms with bleach. Two...

The leading Australian politicians seem to fit into an international trend of blandness. Biden and Xi, for example, are as exciting as cold porridge. Admittedly, Putin is more engaging, like snake or dose of Novichok. Short of advancing more charismatic persons such as Bob Katter, the obvious...

Re the UAP, Clive spent $70M. From 2019 they gained just over one percent of voters who number about 17M. That works out to over $400 for every added voter. Presumably the first $10M was spent more effectively than the last $10M, when voters were sick and tired of seeing the face of "the next...

    Krausening or bottle conditioning

Very few brewers krausen and bottle. Have you tried it? To hit a target carbonation you'd need to calculate how much fermentable sugar is in the krausen.

    Strong Ale

If not SO4, then it depends on how much esters you want. At the low end, BRY-97 generates a bit more than other alleged west coast US styles (none of which actually originated west of the Appalachians), but ferment your beer around 19-20. Among English strains Notty gives a moderate amount. In...

    Strong Ale

Wlndsor does not ferment maltotriose. On an AG wort with a starting gravity of 1.075 it will result in a decidedly sweet beer.

Among dark ales, Guinness clones aren't all that difficult except for the nitro part, which Guinness did without over most of their history.. English browns, even a faux dunkel fermenting with Nottingham at about 12.
