    Hydrom Electronic Hydrometer

Just my opinion but all these digital hydrometers are just toys for us hobbyists. Because as hobbyists we like buying **** we want and not tools we need. If you're serious about going commercial I would recommend more research into industry standards. I believe a poster above meant to refer to...

    Hydrom Electronic Hydrometer

Not sure about the discrepancy at higher end. Buuut, If you're taking your hobby commercial I would suggest investing in precision hydrometers not homebrew equipment. To my knowledge only Tilt have come out with a "pro" version of a digital hydrometer.

    Things can only get better....right?

Hi Tom, Welcome to the hobby. Before you get inundated with varying opinions from forums and other interweb resources might I suggest getting a copy of How to Brew by John Palmer. Someone will jump in with another book that you should get and then you know you're really in this thing...

    Chiller Plate

The chiller plates work as a heat exchange as the beer runs through them. I doubt a fridge alone would get the plate cold enough or maintain the cold well enough. I could very well be wrong as I have never tried this. Give it try but have an esky and ice on standby just in case.

    RAPT Pill

I would argue there is genuine genuine interest. When the pill was first brought to my attention I thought it was something I would definitely buy especially at the price advertised. When released it sold it out straight away or before I could get one at least. Then it seemed people were...

    Ferment lager with ale yeast?

Make your lager kit with ale yeast and if anyone asks, just lie to them. Most won't know the difference or care.

KegMaster XL vs Series-X - Which one is better?

Based on your OP seems your gut feeling was to go with the XL. So go with your gut. Whatever differences there are you won't know without the other anyway. If noise is your primary concern then get a new standard refrigerator that is built with noise reduction in mind. Then convert it with...

KegMaster XL vs Series-X - Which one is better?

The better is likely whatever is owned by a poster. I doubt you will find many people that have purchased both. Come to think of it, you should purchase both and post your findings.

    Corney fills Brisbane

I would recommend enquiring with the breweries that are near you or the ones that make the beer you want.

Corny keg beer out disconnect fittings

The stainless disconnects are a bit trickier in my experience than the plastic but both work. I had trouble with a post leaking a while back. Replaced the orings but still leaked. Got some of the German disconnects as well as new post orings from the US. Tried the disconnect first but still...

    Kegerator question

Yes I have. Unfortunately I could not find a simple video online for you showing the transfer from a commercial keg to corny keg. I would recommend contacting your local homebrew shop to get the corny kegs and additional parts required. You will also want to become familiar with cleaning...

Keg hopping: Hop tube or go naked?

Equipment or lack there of doesn't make better or worse beer. Equipment generally just makes the process more or less convenient. If your process is working for you then there is no need to change it.

    Kegerator question

You can transfer the beer from a larger keg to smaller ones. You will just need the appropriate couplers/fittings for all the kegs. Do you have the smaller kegs already? If not, I would recommend using corny kegs as they will be easy to clean and reuse.

Thinking of buying a pressurised growler. Any recommendations

For homebrew, commercial beer or both? Do you keg your homebrew already?

Keg hopping: Hop tube or go naked?

It only takes a few bits of hops to clog the poppet spring In a corny. Best to keep the hops contained as best as possible. For keg hopping you won't need heaps so the tubes should be plenty big enough.
