    My portable keg bar

    How does one lift it?

Where to buy 23 litre kegs

I don't believe there is a 23 L keg commonly available. You're looking at 19 L "corny" being the staple in home brew. There's also 15, 25 corny variants; 30 and 50 far more common 'commercial style' (true beer kegs, not syrup canisters like cornys).

    Dual STC 1000

Pretty vague description mate, what exactly are you intending wiring in parallel? The input power? The relay output? Sensor? What's the aim of doing that?

    Cutting keg with sparkling water

Just pour in the water hot. What's it going to do? Maybe raise the keg temperature by 10 degrees. Not an issue. Ozonation isn't at all necessary if you're already boiling the water; ozone is more commonly used as a sterilant for bottled water.

Keeping Beer In Kegs Outside The Fridge

You'll need to store them at much higher pressures than if they were in a fridge. Check out a CO2 solubility chart (google) and look at the pressure required for the carbonation level you want, at ambient temperature. You'll also need a cold plate which sits in the fridge and cools the beer as...

    Stir plate oddness

A reduction in viscosity from sugars converting to alcohol, increase in yeast biomass. It's worth remembering that the magnetic force keeps the bar in phase with the motor rotation (torque) AND keeps the bar pulled down onto the flask (force). If your bar is being thrown, then it means that the...

    Stir plate oddness

The issue is when the axis of your rotations aren't lined up. So your flask isn't centred, or is at an angle relative to the rotational axis of the motor. This creates instability in the movement of the bar, which can be exacerbated by particular speeds. I find that mine is very stable at...

Help! stc 1000 wiring using standard aussie lead 240V

Note that if you're trying to find out if the STC1000 works, no need to wire the heating or cooling relays. You'll hear them click on and off if the thing powers up and works.

Help! stc 1000 wiring using standard aussie lead 240V

The voltage won't matter; no special lead or anything. It's pretty simple, so if you're confident you have the right wiring etc then it sounds like the unit is DOA.

Free fermentation fridge - Brookvale Sydney

Hi all, I have a spare fridge that I'm keen to get out ASAP. Samsung Silver Nano - a bit grubby, particularly in the freezer. Has done a fair bit of work, but that's what free gets you. Still works fine. Located in Brookvale 2100

    Drinktec/ Oktoberfest

Bump. I'm headed to Munich for Drinktec and Oktoberfest this year. Drinktech is from 11-15/9 and Oktoberfest the week after. Drinktec is the world's biggest industry show (for brewing and beverages at least). There's actually a new section on home brewing this year too. Oktoberfest needs no...

    Sodastream getting into "home brewing"

Yeah, also the fact that alcoholic drink concentrates are so flammable that they are actually classed as dangerous goods. Alcohol and sugar = bomb fuel. Thusly they need to be stored and transported in accordance with regulations.

    Best-value pH meters

Hi all, I did try to search, but nothing of relevance was returned. I didn't trawl past the 4th page of results though. Anyhow, I bought an ebay pH meter a while back and look it's served its purpose, but now I am looking for something legit. As in reliable and of reputable brand. Budget: up...
