    Agrresive fermentation

You'll be right. Had it happen heaps. I just cleaned it up and carried on as usual. Even a wet towel wrapped around the drum can help to keep your temp down by a few degs. Hot weather sucks for brewing. Saison comes up well at higher temps.

The Corona Virus (COVID 19) Thread

Can you imagine what would happen if it was reported that a massive fleet of a certain nation's battleships was headed to our shores? This panic buying is pissweak. Mind you, I may be accused of doing a bit of panic brewing lately. Things will calm down and we'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Lakewood Tart Cherry Juice. Anyone used it?

Cherry juice is meant to be good for gout. Beer supposedly is bad for gout. Maybe a balance could be attained. Thinking of using the Bickfords cherry juice for a gout busting brew.

A grope among the gum trees.

My dear mother, who is 93, reckons that if any bloke ever got fresh with her at work, (during the war, making gun-sights in an industrial setting) they got bloody short shrift and her male workmates always backed her up. She reckons a women must always let em know the limit. Mates at nine said...

    Homebrew vs Bought

I was unable to brew for the first 5 month of this year and subsequently ran out of beer. My go to in this situation is Coopers Sparkalarkalarkaling Ale big bottles. Plus, with every bottle they give you a great bottle to fill with your own brew. What's a schnitty? Forgive my ignorance.

Warning Regarding Big W PET Beer Bottles, and my Introduction to AHB

The time and effort we spend creating our brews, in all our wonderous fashions and methods, surely warrants greater respect in packaging than PET bottles. They are the work of the devil and an aberation to our art I tell you. I'm amazed how we didn't all die by putting a teaspoon of white sugar...

    Partial: brew assist/query

All seems good and it should kick off soon. I have always made a starter with liquid yeasts of both brands so can't comment on direct pitching. I love that Wlp-001.

    Harvey's Yeast

You know you're a brewer when such videos "rouse" you.

    Epsom Salts

It's a wonder that SWISSE hasn't got onto it and packaged it as " A tonic for stressed home-brewers and alcoholics with muscle cramps." Maybe they have.

    Beerland. T.V show.

I saw it on the guide and you know what? Because it was from the states, I thought naaa... maybe later. Does that make me culturally prejudiced and xenophobic ( I'll explain ) or just cautious of more ****** seppos talkin ********.

    BIAB American Amber Ale

In Australia, we maybe aren't exposed to US beers as they should present. To me, examples of their styles seem over top hoppy sweet and lacking balance. I've probably brewed that **** without even trying. English browns I've been attemping for a while have been very good, with moderation in...

    Aldi specials

I like the look of those juice bottles. Does anyone know their height and will they fit into a namco canner?

    Pale Ale, thoughts..

Of course there's so many variable brewing factors, but an OG of 1.045 is fine I reckon. A movement of 40 makes a wonderful beer. Pale ale means what?

    Question regarding MB 375ml bottles.

I've been re-using CUB stubbies and big bottles for many years now without a problem. But as said if you want to bang up the bubbles' go to the champers ones. I bottle still wine in brown flip-top 750 ml beer bottles. I reckon those buggers could handle big bubbles. Any losses I've had with CUB...
