Fess up Time; Can't Get OG on Target

From my heavy reading on water chem, 5.2-5.6 is the range you want, measured at 20c.

What to do with a Mr Beer

Keep it for small test batches? Otherwise looks more annoying to clean than a large fermenter.

BeerSmith - General help and comments.

Anyone else have an issue with Beersmith 2 not adjusting the FG based on mash temp? I change the mash temp and no change to the estimated FG...the option for this in Advanced is enabled.

Deja Vu Bar (525 Little Lonsdale St, Melbourne)

I'd rather Foo Fighters than top 40 ****. Just put the radio on Gold and be done with it. Not like any craft beer bars are going to play the kind of metal I like etc.

I'm new and this may be a dumb question!

Not even Mythbusters would bother with this experiment. The result is a forgone conclusion.

    Water Chemistry Increasing Unfermentable Sugars?

Def not the salts, I have the opposite problem and have been using salts in all 3 AG brews so far.

Need a bigger and better burner.

Yea I have gone to that store for last minute dry yeast. Not fond of the service there.

    Sippa's English IPA - 3rd brew

Sorry you are right. Did you have any chunks in the hydro tube though?

    Sippa's English IPA - 3rd brew

With extract, there is not going to be much variance in OG from the predicted OG...I would say you didn't stir enough or dissolve all the malt. It will still ferment out fine though. I don't think 600gm of specialty malts will add 20 gravity points either... Many people have said dry hopping...

    Temp control in fridge.

I have 2 of the STC-1000 pre built from Keg King. The ferment fridge has a variance of .1c, with the probe wire and a lamp cord going between the door seal. Low wattage lamp in the crisper keeps it perfect.

    Coopes pale ale improvement

This was my first foray into hops, and quite decent. I would double the hops though, 25gms was too subtle for me. http://www.coopers.com.au/the-brewers-guild/how-to-brew/ale/fruit-salad-ale

    Kegging Setups

I made a bottom collar for my keezer and screwed on 4 castors. Easy to move it around.

    Iron Maiden Trooper Ale.

Cracked one tonight. Not bad, but I wont be going back for more. Much prefer Holgate's ESB or even my Hobgoblin clone which is almost 1 week in the keg. It has a pleasant citrus start, but the finish reminds me a bit of Aussie megaswill, but with a bit more malt.

    Iron Maiden Trooper Ale.

Anyone else that has had trouble finding it, I located some bottles to finally try. Purvis Beer on Bridge Rd (Melbourne) have a few bottles left.

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Had a Holgate APA, then Bridge Road Irish Red Ale, then the above. Balance on the Hop Hog is quite good, nice pine/citrus nose but not bitter enough IMO for an IPA. Maybe FWH involved. Would explain the smooth bitterness and perceived lower IBU. The body probably keeps this in IPA range rather...

    Hop Dealz Australia

Looks good. Transitions are a little slow for my liking though, and when moving across the top, the drop down menus stick around 2x as long as they should I feel. Spelling mistake in the description of Caliente (lok should be look).
