    How many taps you sportin'?

I just finished my first kegerator and went with 4. 4 different beers is a pretty good spread. A stout, dark ale, amber or pale and a standard larger. A sodastread if anyone wants some soda water or soft drink. There's no way they're taking a spot in my kegerator! haha!

    Dry hopping techniques

I have been cold crashign down to 2degC. I'm brewing under pressure, so if there's plenty of presser in the fermenter before the cold crash then there's still positive pressure by the time it gets down to temp. If you are just using a regular fermenter then a trick I have seen before is to hook...

    Dry hopping techniques

This is what I was led to believe also. Primary ferment, diacetyl rest, then if you cold crash the yeast is going to be unresponsive to the hop addition. My last brew I did a 2 day diacetyl rest while at the same time added my hops. The 2 day cold crash then kegged. It was a bit too bitter for...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

What about the fact that the blowtie spunding valve comes with a 0-15psi gauge as standard and it's primary use is to put it on the Fermzilla, which is rated at 35psi with a 35psi PRV. Just make it either the option to choose which gauge you want or don't include one at all and let the buyer...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I assume you mean connecting a sodastream CO2 bottle to the tapping head?? Then yes with a mini regulator and a sodastream bottle adaptor or the new Kegland 360 regulator has the adaptor included.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Yep I agree. I just bought 4 inline regs hoping I could get away with the 0-60psi gauges but I just can't. There will be 4 0-15psi gauges in my next order.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I recently bought a 4 way manifold but the links in the ad to the spare valves and ball lock post contradict each other. The valve says it's a 1/4" NPT and the ball lock post says it's a BSP. I just need clarification on which one it is? I'm thinking it's most likely BSP and the NPT is a mistake.

    Type 30 Coupling for Filling

Yeah that is most likely what I'll do. I just thought I'd ask the question seeing as I hadn't come accross is before. For now I'll probably just drill a 10mm hole in the fridge and feed the gas line in until I get some fittings.

    Type 30 Coupling for Filling

I have a 10kg CO2 bottle and it's the best part the size of a keg. I was considering getting a 2kg fire extinguisher so I can fit it in my kegerator. I have one the sodastram filling adaptors but can you get one so you can connect a type 30 to another type 30 fitting and fill your own CO2...

    Worlds Cheapest Drip Tray

I had this tray laying around after the planter pot itself got broken and the stainless steel mesh came form the scrap bin at work so it technically cost me nothing. You can get these trays by themselves for only $4.40 from Bunnings then just work out what sort of tray you can put on it.

Can You Make a Nitro Tap From a Regular Tap?

Yep I understand the nitrogen/beer mix pressures and vols etc and why it's used. My thoughts were to carb the stout at a lower co2 vol (if it's even possible). To get 1.2vols like you've suggested, you'd need to set the regulator at 1psi with a temp of 10degC or 2.3psi for 12degC. Then turn up...

Can You Make a Nitro Tap From a Regular Tap?

I was looking up on how a nitro/stout tap works and (there may be more to it than this but) it seems that you're just pushing the beer through an orifice plate at high pressure to get the creamy affect. My first thought was can you include an orifice plate into a regular tap? I know you can get...

Keg Carb Pressure Vs Serving Pressure

Seeing as flow control was mentioned before with the flow control disconnects. Has anyone tried using the duotight ball valves as a flow control? I know they may make a bit of turbulence but if you have them at the keg end this may settle out by the time the beer makes it to the tap. Plus they...

Keg Carb Pressure Vs Serving Pressure

Exactly what I was thinking. I'll see how the 4 different lengths go for now as I've only just got enough beer line for that at the moment and no spare QD. If it becomes an issue those bits can go on the next KegLand order.

Keg Carb Pressure Vs Serving Pressure

Thanks for all that great advice kadmium. None of what you have said is new to me, I was curious to why I kept reading people running higher pressures that I was. I am currently assembling my kegerator with a gas maniforld and inline regulators. I plan on having 4 kegs and I was thinking of...

Keg Carb Pressure Vs Serving Pressure

I'll check out cask ale and thanks for the pick up on my misspelling of Tasmania haha!

Keg Carb Pressure Vs Serving Pressure

Yeah makes sense. Sounds like you have quite a setup! The idea of a beer engine has always intrigued me. I can't say I have ever tried a beer from one before.

Keg Carb Pressure Vs Serving Pressure

Awesome. I thought it was most likely based on others having larger line diameters and non-returns etc but I had to make sure. So why is it that people wrap up long length of beer line in their kegerators instead of just going down in diamater? Seeing as the calculator is based on pint pour...

Keg Carb Pressure Vs Serving Pressure

Do you mean the beer goes flat while being transferred through the serving line? Using the line length calculator for the 6.5psi & 4mm beer line I only need like 2.5ft of line, which is fine for my kegerator. Does this mean I can just set my keg at 6.5psi & leave it? Also if you carb at a...
