    Jockey box coil?

Thanks Mark. That will save me the $, time and frustration i was talking about! Yeah, I was going to fill it with salt so that any that didn't pour out would dissolve out, but we didn't have enough salt so I used bi carb. It did the trick for the bending but it didn't dissolve out as easily as...

    Jockey box coil?

Hi all, I had some spare time in the shed the other day and I was experimenting with making a coil with some left over copper pipe I had. I was originally going to use it for a different purpose (That shall remain nameless [emoji6]) but it wasn't quite long enough or skinny enough for that use...

QldKev's New Biab With Internal Rims

Did my first water test yesterday! A few minor leaks fixed and it ramps approx 1 degree per minute with plain water. I presume it will be a little slower in a mash. Can't find a spot to host my video but there's a few after thought photos attached. The first one is of an old stainless barbed...

    Dry hopping ?

Would these ones work like a hop spider in the boil or are the ends too solid for the boil agitation to get through? Maybe suspended sideways?

QldKev's New Biab With Internal Rims

Phew, made it through all the awesome info in this thread to date! I'm looking to make a system using a 40L crown urn and a 19L big W pot. I already have them from previous brewing set ups. Eventually I'm looking to use a Matho's/Lael's/ardbir type controller but I'm going to start with an STC...

    Magnetic pump specs

Thanks guys. The label errors don't surprise me. What i find most interesting is that the examples of the keg king pump I've found online say that it is 25w! So the difference between 10w and 15w is less of a concern for me if it is still up to the task. There's an option on the ad to choose a...

    Magnetic pump specs

Hi all, I'm looking for a magnetic drive pump for a brauduino setup and I came across this on Ali Express: Link Would this be sufficient for recirc in a 40L crown urn? It has similar specs to the Keg King version and comes with stainless head at this price (!) but it is only 10w not 25w so I'm...

Which automated system to go with?

Anyone?... After thinking about it a little more, I'm looking to turn the urn into a 1v system with a brauduino controller (have PM'd Lael but I gather he's a busy guy) but I was wrong, it's an exposed element, not a concealed one. Will this still work with this kind of system or will I get...

Which automated system to go with?

Hi all, I'm after some advice/opinions from people who have already gone down the brewing control route: I haven't posted in ages because I've barely had time to brew for ages, but the bug has bitten again and now that I'm on holidays, I'm looking to build an automated system (or at least...

    caarbonation cap question

I've been kegging for a while but I like to take my own beer camping and I camp a fair bit. I don't like to carb in the bottle for this because the sediment gets stirred up in transit so I've got two carbonation caps. My question is: If I want to carb up several bottles and, thus, have to swap...

    brew overflowing during fermentation

Cheers Bribie, I'm still a little concerned because this has happened within about 36 hours of pitching Nottingham into a 1.094 RIS so I figure it's still got a fair while to chug away at it but I guess I'll just mop up what leaks onto the floor of the fridge if it gets too big. Jono.

    brew overflowing during fermentation

I've got my first splosion fermenting at the moment and it's an RIS that looks almost identical to this pic of yours Bribie (except my fermenter is round). My question is, should I clean up the mess in the bottom of my fermenting fridge now and possibly have to do it over and over, or is it safe...

what's the longest you've kept a no chill brew before pitching

I agree! Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating long storage of no-chill cubes. It's more of a "full time work and 3 kids, no time to scratch myself" sort of thing. Upon further sampling I actually don't think it's infected. The first sample was for an FG reading and even then it was only a...

what's the longest you've kept a no chill brew before pitching

I did a quick search but couldn't find much info. I thought I would find something so I might have just searched like a noob. So, to all the no chillers out there like me: What's longest you've kept a no chill cube before pitching? and was final beer good? or infected? or in any way off...

    Hop Dealz Australia

I'm running chrome at work and it's coming up as a plain white page. Could be the firewalls at work but I would have thought I'd get a warning message or an access denied page?

Will Using A Flash Ruin My Beer

As much as I've been enjoying al the OT banter, it warmed my heart to see this response that actually answered the OP's question... Until I saw this, LOL!  Cheers! Jono.

    Too Sweet, Now What?

Yeah, fair enuff. I'll see if there's any discernible difference from my attempted rest and rousing and if so I know I'm on the right track. If not, I'll stick with the "Summer Ale" from the other half of the batch. Cheers! Jono.

    Too Sweet, Now What?

As the high school students I teach would say "TROLLOLOL". But seriously, I don't have active yeast to pitch but would adding some more wort at rest temperature work? Cheers! Jono.
