    Sterilizing

Forgive my ignorance and laziness please. I have been brewing since about January. I am starting to get some good results from only extract kits. The only sterilisation options I have found in my local brew shop is a mangrove jacks no rinse. It’s in a small bottle that lasts maybe 4-5 brews...

    Yeast harvest.

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone can point me toward any posts or offsite instructions about harvesting yeast from coopers sparkling ale dregs at all if there are any available? I heard it’s an option so thought I would explore that. Thanks in advance.

    Over filled fermenter

While I’m here I’m wondering if anyone has had issues putting carb drops in 330ml bottles at all? Given they are 40ml less than the recommendation of 375ml , just wondering if they over prime and explode or do they do ok? I bottled a few today because I got them cheap but I’m separating them...

Ok. Yeah I was guessing that was the case but hoping to avoid losing some ABV. Thanks for the reply.

    Over filled fermenter

hi guys. I’ve just put my 3rd brew in the fermenter, just another extract , kit, w/e. Anyways I was a bit distracted with kids and accidentally filled the fermenter up to 25 litres when 23 is recommended. So thought I would ask before I pitch yeast . What should I do if anything? Should I...

    Experience with plastic bottles.

Lol. That information is all Greek to me. Sounds like it would be worth setting something up tho to avoid the time bottling. I have young kids on my own so time is my most valuable asset in life.

    First brew

Lol, you shouldn’t have told me that. They may not even last a week after bottling. Lol. I have finished bottling now. And obviously being my first time I’m sure I’ve made a few mistakes but I’ll be ready to refill the fermenter on Wednesday. Any suggestions about what to choose next for the...

    Experience with plastic bottles.

So I have just finished bottling my first brew. And after taking into account the time involved with bottle preparation etc, I am now thinking about kegs. I’ll go do some research on the subject. But surely it’s much faster than bottling. I guess there are always some cons as well.

    First brew

Thanks for your replies guys. I didn’t take a reading at the start of fermentation. So I don’t have an OG reading. Oops. Does this matter really? But after 10 days it’s now stable at 1.005 so I assume that’s all correct. The alcohol volume I was stressing about last night has been...

    First brew

I’m stressing about my first brew, still. Lol :( help This current sg has been stable for over 48 hours so I believe fermentation is complete. Temperature stayed at 20° For the majority of the time and didn’t deviate Past 1° Either way. If the photo doesn’t work , the SG is exactly 1.005...

    Gippy Brewers

I’m sure you’re on to it. Myself on the other hand only just sighted my first hops plant in November at the nursery discussed. Despite 15 years part time horticultural career. In fact seeing these plants was the inspiration behind having a go at brewing. Unfortunately I think I have stuffed...
