    SWMBO

The above mentioned acronym [She Who Must Be Obeyed] is often thrown around on this forum but I wonder how many take it seriously? Appeasing a bitch will only make a relationship worse not better. If you are wondering about a marriage/relationship on the rocks why not have a look at an excellent...

Where To Get Metal For Brew Frame?

Northern Steel [9351 1555] can supply any steel you want but you will have to cut and weld it. They are in Campbellfeild, and will deliver.

    Ginger Beer - Bitters Angostura?

I would also consider using some lemon juice for bittering. I also think you have too much fermentable sugar in your original recipe, I think you will be able to taste the alcohol, and it will make it 'megaswill'. For a ginger beer try to stick to around 5% alcohol.

    Coopers Pa And Galaxy Hops?

Hi Bjorn, I think 20 grams of Galaxy dry-hopped will be too much. I made a Coopers Pale Ale and dry hopped it with 15 grams of Galaxy and I thought that was too much. I suggest that you use only half of the quantity maximum. Just my opinion.

Coopers Dark Ale, With A Twist

Hi Acsasta, Im interested to try your suggestion. Could you please post as much info as you have for this. I recently picked up some cheap Coopers tins at the local supermarket and I have a Coopers pale ale and a Coopers traditional dark ale, and I was wondering if I could combine some of these...

Potassium Levels In Beer And Stout

A big thanks to _all_ posters on this thread [Tavas, Mike, Matho, Sera, Hopcycle, Thirsty Boy and Zwickel]. I have sent an email to Coopers, and I will also follow up on the contacts provided [Dr Peter Aldred & Hugh Dunn]. The list provided by Zwickel seems to reflect the information that my dad...

Potassium Levels In Beer And Stout

Thanks Newguy, I live in Melbourne Australia and use the tap water for brewing, it seems to work fine but I have no idea how much potassium is in the water I use, I will try to find out. I really don't know enough about this topic to explain / understand all the issues [I need to learn more]. As...

Potassium Levels In Beer And Stout

Thanks for your responses Tavas and Mike. I mostly do K&K, and occasionally I have done extract brews, and I doubt that I will go to grain brewing. K&K is easy and produces beer that I really enjoy. I will pursue this with this with Coopers because most of the kits I use are Coopers. Thanks...

Potassium Levels In Beer And Stout

A big thanks to all the posters on this site. I am now brewing much better beer than 12 months ago. I have a question that I can not find much info on, and I wonder if anyone here knows how to help. Both me and my dad like stout but it has a much higher potassium level than beer [according to a...

    Stc 1000 Temp Controller

The STC-1000 is a great temperature controller. I set mine up on the weekend and it's accuracy is very impressive! I recommend this controller to anyone who wants accurate temperature control.

    Stout Ideas

Hi bobdylandsbeard, if you haven't done the boil thing yet, be sure to cool your boil to below 27 degrees before you aerate it. Aslo use a very large pot as it tends to 'boil-over', and sticky goo goes everywhere, trust me I know about this. The bigger the pot the better. And if you get a chance...
